That's an idea, after the funeral, swing by Pinky's for some Dozer Drool. That just might make her feel better.

WBF, if you can, somehow make her realize how blessed she was to have him in her life for as long as she did. I never knew my one grandfather. He was an alcoholic and a chain smoker and it killed him young. I've always felt cheated since I never had a chance to know him. I don't think I would have felt it as much if it had been due to an accident, health or something, but this was something he brought on himself.

Deb I never knew either of my grandpas, so I really can't relate well to how she feels. She came home from the funeral mad :hu Her and her dad are gone to the MIL's now. I wasn't feeling too well, was getting ill at the funeral, so I opted out this time.

Yesterday was EXHAUSTING  First off we loaded up 3 adults and 4 kids and headed out to the Broomcorn Festival in Selmer. There was so much stuff! The kids had a great time visiting all the booths. There was a woman with an angora bunny in her lap spinning te wool from the rabbit as she pulled it. There was a man working a lathe making tops for kids that they each got a handmade top. There was another booth where a woman was weaving baskets, another where a lady was using a pottery wheel making bowls, yet another basket weaver, folks sitting around knitting, another booth with a bunch of ladies quilting, handmade walking sticks, handmade goats milk soaps with the goats present for petting that the kids loved. There were horse and buggies, pony rides, even a helicopter tour. The kids got free balloon animals from another booth. There was a train ride around the park and of course the broom making booth. There were tons of homemade jams and jellies at a few more booths, and then the kiddos played in the park for another 30 minutes or so. I think they all loved it.

Next we hit the arts and crafts fair in Savannah. Kids got faces painted there, but there really wasn't much else. After we left there we went on down the road to our little church friends lemonade and baked goods sale. She decided to raise money for mosquito nets to send to Africa. She's 7 years old :) She learned about the nets in our VBS program a few months back and didn't think they had sent enough nets ;)

We were gone most of the day. We had a great time though! Hope everyone else did as well!

We don't have much like that around here. In two weeks they have a festival similar to that but not all the homemade stuff though. Glad ya'll had a good time! :)

I would have LOVED to have gone to a festival like that. I don't know of anything around here that's similar.

And, good for that little girl. I'm always happy to hear about kids like that one. I hope she raised a lot of money.

Awww.. I missed the broomcorn festival again? I need to make a note of these things, I missed it last year too. I probably just loose the note too though. I was sooo wanting to go and take the kids this year though. :(

Glad to hear the kids had such a good time.

The only event I even remembered this year was the Tennessee river run.... and if Darryl won't even answer his phone anymore... :idunno I didn't go anyway, just gotten too big and commercial, not fun like in the old days. I am glad they got the new cancer center built though.
