Barely. I had to sell the stuff this time. I sold a crap load of broccoli, and watermelons, got that done by 11, then went and got DD's BF for a bit, got some more stuff...apples, jalapenos, more broccoli, cukes, and something else..can't remember. Anyway, got rid of most of it. Then i dropped the BF off, went to the Farmer's market and got about 6 dozen ears of corn for $5 because the guy just wanted to leave And I got about two bushels of green beans for the neighbors for $35 again because the guy was leaving. I also took DD to her Dr. apointment, and picked up the other niece. Then I came home, cut and blanched and froze the crate of broccoli we kept(10 quarts), started dinner(shepherd's pie). Then me and DD just got back from picking blackberries, I picked our green beans while she finished dinner. I put the nieces on dish duty, and the rest to DD. Then I have to get the cukes i kept ready for making some sweet relish for this winter. I have enough strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries to make enough jam for a small army, so I think the deal is sealed on me staying in the kitchen all day tomorrow jamin'
Oops forgot I have a bushel of apples to put up too. Darn...kitchen duty tomorrow for sure. I still have cabbage and onions to put up as well from our visit to the Mennonites. I'm beat, but had a pretty good day.
I got jam done, and relish started. All 8 loads of laundry is done I fought a bratty kid half the day over a stupid turkey sandwich...WHY do 8 year olds refuse to eat?!?! I had to make her stand in the corner to get her to eat her frickin lunch The other niece went home this morning AFTER she peed the bed, and AFTER the other one TOLD me that she was going to go with her to the library because her mom(my SIL) said she could, right after I had said "No" so guess how that went down Kids are so obnoxious and rotten and just plain stupid sometimes. I don't have the slightest clue what has crawled up her tail lately, but she better get a clue. No 8 year old has ever or will ever run THIS house. Bossy little haglet
Anyway, that has been my day for the most part. This morning I went and got some ducklings, and sold them in advance of the flea market trip tomorrow. I also have to go catch chickens at the neighbors house a few miles down, to sell for him, he's gonna cut me in on the profits So, flea market tomorrow. I hope I make it. I am so tired! I have to pick up a gallon of blueberries from my cousin and take them some cucumbers and corn, and I have to take my uncle some green tomatoes and corn too. Full day Saturday. Some day I'll have a weekend to do what I want to again
I got my break I wanted. :/ i'm gonna have to be more careful with the things i say I want. I got stung at the flea market and had to come home. now I'm all loopy on benadryl and can't do anything. I'm fighting sleep, but am sooooooo drowzy. maybe I'll take me a nap. I have no idea what stung me...thought I was gonna be okay, but about 5 minutes into it and I was getting that yuck feeling in the pit of my stomach and heart rate shot up so I chugged some meds and loaded everything up and headed home. I dropped the niece off and the chickens I couldn't sell and made it home just in time for the meds to take over and kick my butt.
I do wonder if I'm "outgrowing" the allergic reaction though. Every time I get stung it seems more and more mild of a reaction. I first got stung 2 years ago, and it really has gotten better each sting since, but I thought kids were the only ones who "outgrew" allergic reactions. Either way, milder is fine with me. I'll take what I can get these days
Some people (I call them the lucky one's ) can slowly build up a tolerance from stings. Not me. Went from a huge target looking thing on my belly, to passing out cold :/ No tolerance built up here - gotta carry my epipen w/ me everywhere I go
Night WBF! Sleep tight! You deserve the rest, but bummer on how you have to get it!
Ugh! I hate to get stung, and I carry my epipen w/me as well. Since I've been getting allergy shots, I don't have as bad a reaction, but I still get a bit of a weird feeling. Better that than having my throat close up on me!
Thanks you two I'm AWAKE finally Now I have to go make bread then cook dinner :/
SSD, I hope I am building up a tolerance! I love being outside, but all the bugs seem to love me, especially the ones with sharp pointy butts When I was dropping off the chickens to the neighbor earlier, shortly after getting stung, I had a wasp fly right at my face. The darn stupid things just love me for some reason. I AM the target They'll fly five miles just to sting me and fly back, it's frustrating. The sting doesn't bother me, the reaction to it is what I hate. It makes me soooooo sick, and I am such a lightweight on the benadryl it's ridiculous. I only took about 2 teaspoons, when my Dr. had told me to take max dose which is 4, but I would have slept literally until tomorrow morning if I had taken that much. No can do I don't have time for allergies
