This winter has been unique in many ways. we did not get A LOT of snow. but, have had persistent snow cover since November. Usually, the snow melts away from over our septic tank at least once during the winter. But, I've not seen bare ground over the septic tank since November. Further, as the snow recedes, there is a 4-6" layer of ice over the ground. It will be a long time before we see lawn!
It would be! It's 01:16am here now and I'm fighting sleep and watching, or should I say glaring at, the clouds, hoping to see something... I really need to get some sleep though, I have a lot to do tomorrow later.
If they did, I didn't get to see them Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. It was partly cloudy when I finally went to bed and overcast when I got up at 05:00am and checked again. They show up often over Co Donegal though, so one day I'll head up there and try again.
Wow, our low last night was 46! Though it was an odd temp for this time of year. The forecast says rain today but it's sunny right now. Back to freezing the next two nights.
40 today, 23 tonight.
Still running the maple sap around here, which is good. My maple syrup supplier couldn't even get to his trees until last Wednesday because of too much snow on the ground. Hope he gets enough to share...
