I blanched and froze 20 qts of beans. These beans were grown from 50 FREE Cherokee Black pole bean seeds that I received from someone on another site. I planted them in the end of May. I never expected to get such a bumper crop! We have left some pods on the vines and will not pick the remaining until they are quite mature and we can dry them for next years seeds.
I'm freezing green beans. I put them in a large flat tupper ware container, once they are frozen I make sure they break apart, thenthey go into freezer bags or vacuum sealed bags. Then I can take out as much as I want later.
roasting on the grill, cutting off the cob, then freezing in bags. we are completely stuck on corn pudding these days so are looking forward to it all winter. yay!
That is how I knew my daughters intended was the one she should MARRY!! High qualifications indeed at my house.
Today I froze about 55 pounds of canner tomatoes! I bought them for $20 today at the Farmers Market. I will freeze them for now and can them later this week as I have more time.
