I picked a bunch of green bell peppers off of one plants and also a bunch of yellow and red gypsy peppers sliced and froze them. I was surprised how much of each I ended up with. I filled 2 large ziplock bags. I also juiced some lemons and froze the juice in an icecube tray. Plan on doing more in the next day or so.

I helped my sister use a bunch of windfall apples to make about 15 quarts of applesauce. Lots more to make as the season progresses!

How did I miss this thread???

I have been freezing

80 ears of corn
all the green beans from my garden (which honestly wasn't much this year)
blueberries
basil
peppermint and spearmint
3 gallon bags of whole roma tomatoes from my garden

I am hoping to hit the farmer's market and see if I can get some more green beans and some pumpkin and squash to freeze cause mine just didn't do squat this year.

We are also hoping to get some meat chickens to freeze in parts and my goal is to ground 2 whole deer (minus the tenderloins) this fall. Whatever else we kill can go in steaks and roasts. I still have 4 bags of cubes for soup when the weather gets colder.

Anyone grind their own deer meat or turkey??? How hard is it, really?

I froze bread crumbs over the weekend. Two bags soft and one toasted and seasoned Italian style. Just something new I wanted to try.

We grind our own meat. Hubby didn't gwet a bear, so we won't be grinding that, but we usually doo lot of deer. We started out using amanual grinder. Well, thats alot fo work!! so now we have an electric one and it's a breeze. Mind you--we haven't had any deer to grind in over two years. I think the last one was three years ago. But hubby has a doe tage this year, so it should be easier. How can you guys get so many deer? Hubs has to enter a draw for the doe tag, ( I didn't), so I'll get a buck tag, so that's only two deer for us (if we get some--one per hunter)
