Wow! Good for you cjparker! I don't think I could give up my morning drink-tea.

I shopped customer appreciation days today at my local implement store. They already have excellent prices on bulk beans, peas, onions, potatoes and sweet corn, and today I got 30% off. Whoo--hooooo!!!

Today I begin week three with my new turkeys, so they got 2/3 whole grains and only 1/3 turkey pellets. By the end of the one and only bag of pellets, they will be done with commercial feed and on whole foods. Cuts the feed bill in half, takes 3-4 weeks to develop the crop if they've been on commercial feed. I supplement with soymeal until the bugs are out and abundant.

I made mayo, yogurt, and my favorite chai tea concentrate with fresh ginger root, cinnamon bark, whole allspice and nutmeg. A batch lasts about two weeks. I add it to my black tea at about a 3:1 ratio with water, mostly water. Yum....

I made dog food today. We had leftover chicken and leftover sauce from bbq'd ribs. I figure I saved myself at least $5.00, and my dog gets good healthy uncontaminated food.
I do this everytime we have left over meat that no-one wants to eat. I also use soup as starter for a batch of dogfood.
My SO will not eat left overs. Sometimes I make a completely different dish using something that was cooked the day before. He'll eat it -reluctantly. He's so weird. If I were to cook a chicken, bone it and make a dish out of the meat that day, he would think that is wonderfull, but use chicken we had yesterday - no way -. So I end up with lots of opportunities to make dogfood. :D

As mentioned on another thread, today I found a source for my chicken feed that costs 15% less than at the other place, for the same feed.

I almost finished my milking stand....just need to do a few more details, but the garage light is not working and it needs the electrician (we trade with). I should take it for a spin tomorrow, I hope! It is made entirely from salvaged and leftover bits and pieces, so I had to get creative at times, and "let it go" at times when my perfectionist personality reared it's ugly head....

It should last forever, and is sturdy enough to put a small cow on it, I think!!!

Thank you miss_thenorth!

My head has been THROBBING for 2 days. I broke down earlier and bought dt mt dew (my weakness- I don't drink coffee). My kids like me better now. LOL. Just had a small cup since no headache meds could touch it.

The smoking is gonna be a toughie. But I'm determined to do it. I quit for a whole week in sept but hubby couldn't so I threw up my hands. It won't happen this time though. I'm ready to quit. Sure is nice to know some one has my back though. I thank you.

gettinaclue, I feel for ya. I'm on day four of no coffee and no soft drinks. Although I didn't get a headache, I have been dragging! Could barely keep my eyes open all day yesterday, but today feels better. We can do this!
