Today I did nothing to save money. I just seemed to spend. Thank goodness I don't do that often. I had to get a haircut. But because of that I found gas 2 cents cheaper than anywhere else. So that was a savings. But because it was to early to go for my hair appointment I went to a discount store to just walk around.
Bad move on my part. LOL. I only spent a few dollars though. Bought my mother a new hair brush and bought myself a couple of pair of socks. Had to shame myself into no other impulse purchases. It was tough but I managed.

I have to go into town today for a few groceries. I need a haircut too, but I'm trying to hold of till next month, since we have a few Christmas parties to go to. So I'm going to wait to get my haircut then. I have a list of what I need and I am going to stick to it.

I helped everyone save money tomorrow but filling up my tank today.....seems like everytime I fill up at one price, it goes down by $.05 by the next day. America owes me a debt of gratitude! :D

I did not do so great today. I shopped hungry. The only thing in my favor was I bought spinach on sale for .99 cents at Aldi's but it rang up 1.99. They gave me back the entire amount I paid for the 2 bags.

I did buy a lot of veggies which I have been craving.

I stayed at home today and did some baking to give as Christmas gifts. I made pecan cookie cups for the cookie swap at Church.

The weather has been rainy and damp for 3 days so I had to use my dryer for some laundry. I did hang them up in the house overnight, tho'.

Today I spent money that I did not intend on spending, to save some money. Instead of staying home and cleaning, I went into town with my mother (she lives next door) so that she could pick up her meds at the supermarket pharmacy. While she was getting her meds I took a stroll down to their dented/discontinued area with my coupon wallet and hit the jackpot! :ya They had just put some new items in the bins so I started to dig. I got the following:

Chex Cereal (damaged box)- Free after using my coupon
Froot Loops (dammaged box)- Free after coupon
Parchment Paper (dammaged box)- Free after coupon
35 ft Renyolds Release Foil (for my new conspiracy hat  )- 50 cent after coupon
Bisquick (dammaged box)- $1.25
Purina 1 cat food - $2.50 (reg $7.50)

I then went and got 2 Free 3 packs of ivory soap which were on sale for $1 each but with a coupon were free. The meat department was near by and they were stickering the meat that was close to code so I picked up 3 cube steaks for a dollar a pound. I should have quit there but I bought milk, margerine, eggs and a few other items until my bill was $101.62. After taking off the sale prices and coupons, I paid $46.42. Most of these items will go into my stash of food in the basement, to be used when times get tough or before their code expires.

I went to town yesterday and I dont want to talk about the not so great things I had to spend money on, the regular stuff. I didnt buy extras, which is good for me. But I did save on a couple of things.

*Precious String Cheese - 12 pack - marked down to $2.98 - has a instant $1 off coupon on it also, so its only $1.98! Grabbed 4 packages for school lunches.

*Purina Laying Pellets - $13.49 - Torn Bag/taped shut - marked down to $10.00 - TSC floor man says he taped it himself, didnt lose a pellet! Saved $3.49!

*Essential Oils - Longs Drugs - all essential oils $1.00 off - bought some for scent for the rice body warmers.

When I shopped at FoodMax, the guy said I saved $79 by shopping at FoodMax today! Hope he meant it!

I made up supper menus for the next two weeks. I make the menus out of things I have in my pantry/freezer so that I don't have to go to the grocery store. I have enough fresh fruit & veggies, and enough milk for two weeks, so I shouldn't have to shop for two weeks.
