I try to buy all of my canned foods from Aldi's! But our local Aldi's have raised their prices and I am only saving like a penny a can compared to Walmart's prices on their canned foods. But a penny is a penny, right? and I tell DH, well, for every x amount of cans we buy at Aldi's, we saved a can LOL

I have 2 Aldis near me...one very close, the other a little further where I shop in Hickory.

Both are still low in price mainly....but you have to be careful, some things are not a deal.

canned mushrooms are .49---great deal considering my grocery put them up to .99 per can. kill me. I just like canned to add to sauces and such. So great savings there.

Knock off cereal is good for Nicole. Big box crispy rice is $1.69---but if careful I can do this with rice crispies with coupons and sale combined. So I guess it is a crapshoot on saving.

good produce prices at my aldis

tons of frozen foods, I don't buy that. I buy select things from them.

Tuna--solid albacore which I like--only .97 per can. Store is $1.69 for Bumble Bee....so I sure stock up on the tuna at aldi.

mandarian oranges are .79 can. grocery is 1.19 now. but I found these at the dollar store for .60......I like these for Nicole. She eats the hound out of them. I add them to salads.

aldis is worth shopping definitely....remember to bring your own tote bags!

My family normally tries to eat all the free range meat we can. We seldom buy any meats because we raise our own, but yesterday my friend and I found a wonderful deal on turkeys. I purchased a couple turkeys for .39 cents a pound. I wished I had room and I would have bought more. Normally every year we have at least one in the freezer because my husband loves to hunt, but he didn't get one so I was forced to purchase one. I really thought this was an awesome deal!

Today I decided to not make the 70 mile round trip to town just for movie tickets. I decided to wait until Friday and get 5 other errands done at the same time, in the same town.

we have Aldis and Save A Lot but both are 40 minutes away. I only stop at Save A Lot if Im going thru because other than canned veggies and the occasional special there isnt a lot I get from there. I do shop mostly from the sale flyer and spend more where I get gas points and this time of year a free turkey. But even the grocery store is 20 minutes away.

Yesterday she just had a slight cough & a runny nose. Today we woke up with a fever & throwing up(I think it was mainly from overnight drainage). So she was laying on my chest/belly & head on my shoulder dozing off & on all this morning. then all of a sudden she woke up & in a pretty normal voice(minus the stuffiness) I need a drink of water! So I knew we hit that turning point We started holding down the water even Yippee!
Weds morning I will make another batch of applesauce & butter. And after we get more schoolwork done I will get started on apple pie filling to can too.

poor kid
I was lucky Nicole didn't get sick that far. She had the nose and cough...all clogged in the head.

Poor DD with throwing up....but one great thing about kids, they recover fast! Glad she is doing better! :)

spent a little money at the dollar store today for my donations for Nicole's pre-school

I took in construction paper, wipes and they now need a few more things. The teacher, Miss Jennifer, said that I am the only person bringing in things off the "needed" list. Why doesn't anyone else do these things..LOL...I mean, it is for your kids ya know. So I got everything they needed off the list and they are stocked. Nicole's class is such a nice group of little kids!

not alot of money, but worth it.

At the dollar store I checked their food aisle real good. I am surprised that alot of things were priced reasonably low that I use. I got a steak sauce for $1.00. Will try and hope it is as good as A-1, if so...convert here..LOL
