I did not do so great today. I shopped hungry. The only thing in my favor was I bought spinach on sale for .99 cents at Aldi's but it rang up 1.99. They gave me back the entire amount I paid for the 2 bags.

I did buy a lot of veggies which I have been craving.
We're getting a new Aldi's here in the spring. Do you like it? I don't buy a lot of prepackaged food. I'm not sure what they carry.

I posted earlier about using those plasticy waxpapery liners that are in cereal boxes and such- I now have a small stack of them and found they fit into my small waste cans like in the bathroom. I can't believe I threw them away for years.
I wonder if they decay in land fills or whether they will be there for a thousand years- hopefully they will tear up and go away. But anyway they have as least had a second life.
Also I'm trying to devised a poop sifter for use with the goaties. I want to save more of their bedding but end up with a mixed pile of berries and straw that I can't sift out.

In fact I have gone so far into this thread that I was actually wondering if dried goat berries could be burned in a pellet stove- lead to an awful picture of neighbors calling public health and a jammed auger on the stove. But what a dream that would be------------

I stayed home all day & went thru boxes, I have 2 boxes of baby clothes to give away the boy stuff is going to a niece & a nephew who have almost 1 yr old boys(10 days apart). And the girl stuff is going to a friend from our homeschool group who just had a little girl this summer. And the rest of the stuff filled up a big box for our yard sale(I have 4 boxes of stuff so far). And we got rid of about 10 boxes out of our house & the space we gained is amazing. I was even able to get dh to bring in a shelf unit my dad made before I was born to put in my dining rm. Haven't put much on it yet but I will in the next few days. So no money spent but potential to earn some with the sale.

 Too funny! Goat fuel, now THAT could persuade my DH to get goats!!
My in-laws use the foil liners from Familia cereal to wrap gifts. I'm not joking. Personally I can't afford the cereal, LOL. My brother just uses aluminum foil but at least his is new.. family, so strange!

Stopped by the grocery store this morning to scan the clearance meat section. Picked up two small packages of beef for $5 (on sale plus 30% off)....figure I can make a stir fry with one and a soup or maybe braised beef over smashed taters with the other.

I do like Adli's and buy as much as I can there. Butter, cheese and milk are cheaper than well even Walmart. Veggies are hit and miss. But when you hit they are good and cheap. I buy sugar and flour there as well as olive oil.

I buy snack food and cereal for the grandkids and they never notice it is not name brand. I have bought meat there but not a lot as we use a lot of venison and now have chickens.

Cool! Got another 6 months before it opens. It sounds like the kind of store that will do well in this area. We had I believe the first Super Walmart in CT. They do very well. Interestingly, but not surprisingly, the new Aldi's will be a quarter mile away from Walmart.

A neighboring town just got an Aldi's - directly across the street from the Super Walmart. I haven't been there yet, but my Mom shops there regularly. She has liked everything except the lard which she ended up throwng out.
