Oh YUM! That looks delicious!

We're on day 3 of a big ol pot of soup. That's it for the soup and I'll need to cook again tomorrow.

Supper tonight was chicken and dumplings. Our son dropped in a few days before Thanksgiving and asked if I had an old layer hen in the freezer. I told him that I had given them all to a neighbor who needed the meat more than we did, BUT I had a 3 year old mean rooster! He asked if I would make him chicken and dumplings next time he came.

So I crock potted the mean rooster about 18 hours, picked the meat off the bones, froze it with broth. I kept out a little for us, so our supper was mean rooster and dumplings.
