I'd send a polite No Thank you card They did the polite thing by inviting you, return the favor by turning them down politely. No biggie

You could always have a prior engagement. It might be with Amira, but you might still have arranged something prior.

You can say something such as: Thank you for the lovely invitation. I regret that a prior engagement will prevent me from attending.

Then if it were me, I'd add: Now go on and have a great time since I won't be there to giggle and snort and ruin your perfectly lovely day.

So all my Friend-of-Auties here really have to read "unwritten rules of social behavior" it scolds nts for being too rigid to adapt to auties lol. It is really a good book. But they confuse autism with the coping mechanisms to deal with autism. Sigh. By temple grandin and scott someone.

Ahem.... Thank you kindly for the invitation to the event of your special day(Hehe good luck with THAT), but seeing as how I don't and have never really liked you in the first place I do not think I will be attending. I have to trim my toenails that day, which is MUCH more important! I do not believe I'd be able to refrain from "Yo Momma" jokes anyway for the painful duration of being in the same vicinity as you people. So, I won't be coming, not for your sake, but for MINE My stomach gets queasy when I'm around you guys too long. My toenails need attention anyway. Sorry
