I have to remember to take meds Abi or I get vertigo. It is real icky, so that prompts me to have methods of reminding myself to take my medication. I do keep them at the computer since I tend to sit here a lot and keep a drink of water handy too.
It helps to have a specific time of day that you are supposed to take them that you keep to a regular habit. I try to take my morning medications with my first cup of morning decaf, which is something I don't have to remind myself to do. So mix the med-taking with something pleasureable and pretty soon you have a good habit.
I'm sorry the special evening was spoiled for you.
SD - I've tried every trick there is to remember. I'm terrible LOL! When I was younger and had to take pills, my dad had to call me when it was due and stay on the phone with me til I took it, or be home and physically watch me take them.
I will have a pill in my hand, set it down to get water, drink the water and leave without taking the pill. Or have it still in my hand because I thought setting it down would make me forget and wander off with it in hand, after drinking the water. There's really some disconnect there hahaha.
I don't not want to. It is just coq10, fish oil and d. And I feel better taking it. I dont know what it is lol!
Honestly i have trouble with anything daily if anything interrupts me. I can take a pill at 6 am with milk. But at 601 or i run out of milk then i am doomed lol. So maybe i need to tie it to something unchangeable, like feeding the cats. They dont let me forget.
I agree with the treats idea as well make up a scrumptious batch of what ever truffle treat you especially like and only allow your self to eat one - right after you swallow your medicine. It worked for Pavlov's dogs maybe it will work for Abi.
Gosh, I'm so sorry, I realize I gave you a "dog" suggestion.....I don't mean to do that, I just am all about positive reinforcement. And for myself, I have associated a morning goodie with my pills and that is how I remember them.
