I went home early with seizures. One of the nurses drove me (half the dance group is in health lol) and told me to go to Denver Health and sign up on their indigent program. So I'll do that. She said I should get meds before they worsen again, since they ebb and flow.

Also, I suddenly realized why the world is like a strobe light when I have seizures. I feel dumb: my flickers of seizures are little dots of black out off and on all day. So things literally ARE strobing.

I don't really understand what I'm supposed to do. The website is confusing.

I always figured the longer you had them and ignored them, the less important it became to do anything about them. You know "it hasn't killed me yet so they can't be serious", but I got scolded LOL.

Oh I'm fine. I can't think of anything a doctor would ever do anyway. I can't remember to take vitamin d every day. If I could remember my fish oil, d, and coq10 I might not HAVE so many seizures, and I can't.

I'd never remember seizure meds. LOL.

Also, I couldn't take anything that would further damage my liver.

And we mess up drugs when whoever is up front switches. Plus the autism. I probably won't actually go to a doctor. I went to the website, got overwhelmed, and decided that it's too much effort for too little gain.

have you ever kept track of potential triggers?

mine are light and stress induced mostly but ive also found certain odors can trigger...

its not a cure but knowing if you do have triggers and what they are certainly helps in managing them.

i have found a dark room and lavender oil with deep breathing and visuaization helps if i can catch one in its aura stage.

i always had light induced but after hurt my head they got more frequent so i started tracking them...and it seems to have helped

in terms of remmebering to take my meds...
well i think i use my cellphone more as a reminder system than as a phone lol.
i have a blackberry (no data, just as a phone) and it has a detailed caender system so i have my meds recorded in there with a reminder alarm...
if it wasnt for that...id never remember to take them.

Auntie set up a reminder email for me. It really doesn't help at all. By the time I walk to the kitchen I'm distracted and don't actually get to my meds.

Triggers: blood sugar, hormones, weather changes, stress, fatigue, hunger, overstim.

I try to manage entirely through diet and meditation.

It's fairly successful. Would be more so if I could remember my supplements and avoid my chocolate cravings more often.

eta: Things move so FAST when I'm having seizures. Which makes sense, if you remove all the time in the little black outs, time really does speed up *giggles* I think I'll go to bed early >.>

The solution to that is to keep the meds and a case of water beside your computer. ;)
