Abi, I just wanted to tell you that you are awesome :hugs
ditto! And I think *specifically* what you do is reject the social correctness ... So many of us would love to do that, but being socially correct is so drilled into us that we can't, and not risk offending somebody. You have a medically diagnosed "out" ;)

LOL Bethanial. About half of it I never pick up on. The other half I pick and choose.

For example, I'm dressing appropriately for a family gathering. I'm dressing like a sock monkey. I have this sweater the is the black/grey/white with red diamonds and it looks just like a sock monkey. I lubs it. With a long black skirt.

For another example, I had no issue grilling my dad about what exactly was being served and demanding a short visit. Those are my needs, so I'm meeting them. Done deal. I feel no obligation to do whatever else is obligatory there. I am going entirely because HE invited me. I figure if he's willing to get me there, I'll enjoy his company and ignore the other butt heads.

I am generous towards friends but have absolute no obligation to those I don't know. I never feel bad for others reading sob stories. I don't feel any urge to donate to lost causes or whatever. I don't have heart strings to pull LOL. For some reason, people get really mad when I say "But everyone knows that's a flood plain. They chose to build there". :hu

Why does everyone have social correctness so drilled in? That sounds painful. I am SO glad I'm autistic and can drop it all in favor of logic and/or selfishness. I LOVE my boundaries. I have tons of them. Oodles. Boundaries all over the place!

*puts up some boundaries just for fun*

So, partly for the fun of annoying and offending my step mom and sister, and partly to enjoy my dad's company, I'm going to this thing.

They're having ham (I just eat around the glaze, it'll be sweet, but I'm in seizure mode that requires more sugar. Good timing), asparagus, and sweet potatoes (was scalloped potatoes but dad agreed to scallop yams for me).

I'll be seeing my step monster who hates me for being more competent than she is. I think she has no soul, is her problem. Her eyes are blank.

My related-to sister who told my mom and step dad she hates me because I dress funny (thanks for the hat, Auntie!! It offends her :D) and she is mostly bothered that I don't care that she minds. And therefore tries to not let me near her son. :hu

My step sister who is beyond useless. She's stupid. I mean, actually. Low iq and no one was willing to get her help to do things like learn to really read or think. She got knocked up by someone twice her age (I think she's 18ish?) with twins and still has never held down a job. She's middle class trailer trash.

My other step sister who is better. She married some guy to get him US citizenship but he seems like actually good people. He works his butt off and when they were staying with my dad didn't let her slack on chores at all. Pitched in everywhere and got her to, too. So she's the best of the bunch. She's had the same job for years, so she at least gets points for that. She and I at least don't NOT get along.

Then my dad who likes to play jolly family man. He's a sociopath. :love My friend gave me a paper about sociopaths and he and I fit the bill. It's an ability to drop the (well fitting in his case, ill fitting in mine LOL) cloak of society at a moment's notice without any regret. As opposed to psychopathy which is the crazier version. Although sociopathy does let you have fun and play a lot.

He and I don't follow the social code as much as personal codes of behavior, so we get each other. I might be the only person who really knows what he is and it relaxes him. And he doesn't seem as attracted to me now that I look like a grown up girl and that lowers the stress all together. I have fewer strict boundaries on him when I don't have to be paranoid about that. LOL. He's so silly.

Anyway, we agreed to an hour or so before dinner and I leave directly after dinner. I'm bringing dessert since none were planned. At all. That's my step mom. All the sugar is in the dinner, I guess, so no dessert needed? Anyway, I'm making peanut butter truffles. What alcohol goes good in peanut butter?

She is really scary. Not a hair out of place. Perfect jewelry and make up and eyes that look like a stepford wife. : shudder ;

She is for reals my auntie.

She was in the nieceless pound and her nose was pressed against the window and she had such big sad eyes. So I adopted her my very own self and now she is stuck with me.
