ETA: Henrietta, ask anything you want and I'll try to answer :)
Thanks!! I will probably learn more from you and working directly with my kiddos than I ever could in a class. :D

Let me run this idea by you Abi for Bethanial's son... Calligraphy!
Calligraphy improved my handwriting incredibly.

It's because you are DRAWING each letter!! I like Japanese brush painting too :)

LOL Thanks SKR8PN! Autism helps and years of practice. That's how I hatched a dragon, in fact. The Dark grows and I get so comfortable with it that it's habitable for her and she's wonnerful.

Henrietta... indeed! Classes are silly. Conversing with auties is best. Auntie is the Autie Whisperer... You'll be well on your way too. *giggles*

So because I know my seizures hit right around Christmas day, I bought enough food to make an extra two soups, as well. So I will have my horseradish lentil-sausage soup and then I have 6 chicken breasts with which to do something... Not sure what yet. :hu Maybe get some bacon tomorrow and feta and do a salad with it.

Hoorah Auntie for figuring out the pattern on timing. My life is SO much easier now. I know when to not use a knife :gig

I was thinking four full meals (2 last a week) for about 100 (including enough squash to last even longer and ingredients for that cake) was pretty damned good. And not having to cook on a cascade... priceless. LOL.

I am reading "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin De Becker.

There is a very thin line separating cowardice from fear, and conversely, fear is sometimes mistaken as cowardice. Fear is one of our basic survival instincts. Learning to recognize and understand it is a very interesting subject..........
Love that book! It is a must-read for everyone, but especially polite women and good-girl types. Ok, nevermind, it is for EVERYONE!

I'm INNOCENT I tell you!!!

Welcome :) Pull up a cushion and make yourself comfy (I don't have furniture. It requires horrid 90 degree angles!). I do, however, have tea and coffee and tasty treats!

So THAT'S why he's so interested in helping me build my (very much so still in the dream stages) bale-cob house that will be at least be round-ish, if not round! ;)

And he does like to draw, so I might try calligraphy, too! Y'all are amazing :love :hugs

The Faelands is furnished with bean bag chairs, floor cushions and balance balls :D I like the big blue balance balls the best.

And yes, you can learn much about the way an Autistic person sees the world by talking to Abi. Many times I have asked her why Max does certain things and she usually explains why she does similar things and it allows me to figure out what's going on.

Like the finger wiggling by the ears. Abi, tell them about that :D

I've been sending links to your blog & now this thread to my BIL. His middle child (4yo) was recently diagnosed and he despairs of ever understanding B's world.
He kinda played the denial game when it was first mentioned to him that B might have an autism spectrum, but after several people mentioned that he shows some signs, he started to listen and got him formally tested. I recently learned B has a great therapist who apparently speaks autie. He adores her & is fiercely loyal.
I wish we lived nearer to them, B is an awesome kid.
