I did!! I only woke up once coughing. This cold has been seriously cutting into my snooze time LOL. And it wasn't an hour of coughing to fall back asleep. Just a few minutes!

I have dance class after work tomorrow! And a friend stopping by tonight to say hi. So that timing worked out nicely LOL.

Work Monday is always so damned stressful. Not in a bad way, just a LOT of calls, and it's disconnect day. Everyone wants to cancel out their service who was just trying our free trial. :p

I terrible at sales so I'm terrible at saving customers who are canceling. "I can't afford services" .... my great save "Oh man! I've been there. Are you interested in coming back once things settle?" LOL!!

So my sister spent two nights and we had a blast. First time pickling for either of us. It involved two trips to the store (more beets and mushrooms. It takes a lot to fill even little jars!) and much kitchen mayhem.

I, of course, had just finished my weekly cooking (two weeks worth, actually), so the kitchen was full of my mess. I had to empty all the cooled food from plastic containers into freezer bags and label them and then washed all the containers (we tossed a large towel onto the floor and chucked them all into the living room to dry LOL) and then got started on Imooto's big mess :)

We do great in a kitchen together. You know how some people come into your kitchen and you must kill them (points to her roommate who cannot hover near the kitchen without ending up in the way)? She and I just dance. It's great fun. There was much "huh" and "oops" and "do you think it will still work?"

But we ended up with the dozen jars of pickled stuff she wanted so all ended well! Plus we had much cake and watched Once Upon a Time in Mexico. It's a Tarintino film, so of course it wasn't very good (I only like his Four Rooms), but it had Antonio Banderas (the male who, like Imooto's Boy, everyone we know would go for including the boys lol), Johnny Depp, and Salma Hayek in it.

I took Imooto to the masque shop in town too!! It's all Victorian and Steampunk and belly dance in there. Leather masques and great hats... She found a jacket she loved so I did a quick pattern for her and she's going to see if she can make it :) It was a wrap around.

Also, leather masques and hats. OMG. I love that store. I must get a better paying job and get cute hats. To go with my Victorian-Asian look.

I got to spend Friday day with my step dad and that was fun :) He's my only relative who genuinely enjoys my company. I thought my dad did, but he doesn't ever actually make plans with me which might be because his wife hates my guts. :hu

But my step dad is awesome and we had a grand time. We bought squash (.27/pound) and went on an hour drive to an outlet for clothes for his grandson (my related sister's kid. The sister who hates me because I'm not bothered that she hates my clothing) and braved the mall together. LOL. We chatted the whole time. He and I find it amusing that people think I'm comfortable with myself by some kind of just being that way. We both remember me in high school. We had a good laugh over that.

Then last night, an old friend stopped in on his way back to New Mexico and we had dinner. I'm trying to convince him to make himself happy. So is everyone. We all like him and don't see why he enjoys being miserable. This all centers on his spouse. *laughing* We all want him to leave her. She's the sort who begs pity pellets. So that was fun too.

I'm Ms Social Butterfly this week! Chuckles is visiting tomorrow with his wife and we're going to VI for coffee and talk. And then dance Tuesday. And that's probably it for a while. I'm hoping busses are running normal times Friday so I can get my milk. But it's a holiday so I should look it up online.

My step dad won't let the mom lady out of the house this time of year because she gets too nutters and isn't really safe to let out. He's encouraging her to stay home and quilt. So he and I might be able to Friday if busses are weird.

Speaking of weird, is there a set number of times one is required to state the name of the person to whom they speak?? When roommate talks to Auntie he says her name REALLY frequently. It's creepy and weird. At work, we're required to say the customer's name once during the call, but they say don't do it too often. So what's the number supposed to be. Most folk I forget their name and I really HOPE someone uses it in conversation so I remember to whom I'm speaking >.>

I forget Auntie's name. That's why I Title friends. Then I don't have to remember. I just remember the Titles. *beams*

*curtsies* That's all I have to say for now. Bai!

 Have fun Abi!! With all of it!!
I find it odd when people use another person's name frequently too. It's not like the person is likely to have forgotten their own name, is it? :p

"Problem? I haven't got a problem. I have ****ing problemssss. Plural."

Maybe the folks are trying to make themselves remember someone's name? :hu

That store sounds fantabulous!

I don't think there's a set # of times to use a name - not a "rule" I've ever heard of....

Me? I'm HORRIBLE with names! I just learned to not be afraid, and immediately start out with, "I'm SO sorry, but I'm horrible with names, and I've forgotten yours." So then I know who I'm talking to, and nobody has made fun of me or anything :D

One reason my husband says someone's name at least 3 times when they first meet is so he can remember it. He had a speech class where they said if you use a person's name in at least 3 sentences you won't forget it. Works for him. But seems weird using it more often in a normal conversation.

I also forget peoples names, unless I can do some sort of association. I am actually better at remembering peoples' forum names, maybe because they are so special?

Abi, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your journal. I think you are a kick in the pants and I would love to know you in person ;)

I generally take people for who they are. I meet some interesting people that way.

My friends visiting from out of town JUST FOUND OUT I LIVE IN DENVER!

Dur.

That was the whole "I'm in Denver" part of the conversation. It was typed too. Anyway, my "coffee in a few" is now "coffee in an hour".

LOL

In my book, being "a kick in the pants" is a good thing ;) I love reading your posts. Including the occasional dis-connectedness. Maybe that's because my mind jumps around like that too
