I think Abi definitely thinks outside the box. Heck, she sees different boxes than we see.

I only found out there were boxes when I got yelled at for not using them LOL. I still don't notice them though. I also forget to see peoples' masks. That tends to upset them a lot. Oops.

It's 36 degrees out and I'm cold. Humph. I'm trying to force my kitty to snuggle on the blanket in my lap but she's refusing. *sob*

I work in 10 minutes so time to get ready for work!

Sorry it's not nicer there. It finally is here. It's clouding up a bit but it is warm.
Hope work goes by quickly.

I'm rebooting. Actually I'm so tired I can't see straight and it's been dead all day. *tries to stay awake*

So the cover letter is supposed to just be an introduction right? "Hi, I'm the most awesome person you'll ever meet, so go check out my resume, and then hire me", right?

I suppose I at least have the EGO to write one LOL.

Yes! The idea is to cater your resume to that particular job by saying just the right things in the cover letter. Parody example:

Dear Mr. In Charge of Hiring

Very formal hello and praise to your company for being the awesomest place. :bow You really should check out my attached resume and see why I'm the most perfect one. :D

This is the biggest reason why.......my assets match up perfect for some reason or another that I've dreamed up just to fill this paragraph, but they are truer than true and explain why I am such a cut above the rest (I believe we actually covered this in the one I sent you).

Sum it up with listing three or four great things about ME in a row that are things that are true about me but also stuff employers want to hear, i.e., reliable, dependable, self-starter, multi-tasking, industrious.....ahem....empathetic......(here is where the one I sent you might be better with more tweeking)

Finish up line kissing some "backside" and still managing to sound just a wee bit "in demand." I like to sound very formal here to give yourself a poised kind of look as a finishing note.

Sincerely
Abifae

Of course I'm being a little flippant here, but in plainspeak, that is what I'd have you say. But you throw all your big words you know in there and make it sound all clever and polite at the same time if you can. You can use the word "I" finally in a cover letter, whereas you should avoid it in the resume itself, so take full advantage of being able to freely say "I am great." The cover letter is your chance.

PS: Sometimes the thesaurus is your friend.

PPSS: And make sure you write a specialized individual cover letter for each new employer, tweek it just for them.
