eta: pickled grapes for the win! Had some of the pickling left so we tossed in the rest of the watermelon lol.

Mmmm pickled grapes sound yummy! Last time we were at Old Sturbridge VIallage I bought seeds for citron melon. It looks like it gets preserved and can be used in things like fruit cake.

Yep, that's the one, Auntie :D

We didn't have the right peppercorns, so I added some dried red peppers and we used Truvia instead of sugar. And not nearly as much. And a bit of honey to even out the sweetness.
