Depending on your prices I might buy a few turkey eggs as well. PM me with the details!

:( Well, one slate turkey died trying to hatch. I helped 2 others that had pipped...just enlarged the hole a teensy bit so they could breathe. It's so hard for me at this point...I know I'm not supposed to mess with them, but it kills me thinking they get so far and pip and then die before hatching. I had 2 hatch this morning, so I think that's 7 or 8 now that have hatched. I can't remember!! And it's looking like they're all buffs. Or if there are slates they all look the same to me. I need to google pics. And I need to count the unhatched eggs since they were all marked with what variety they were. But I bought them at an auction, so who knows what they really are!

I really hope when I get home that there are 2 more poults!!

we thought this too.. but then we figured they were gonna die anyway so why not help? we have a buncha turks out there right now who shouldnt be here. i think its hard to get the temp right in the incubators so grab a qtip (to dab dab dab the membrane but not too much!) and help them babies out!

sorry that you lost one
:-(

That's what I think too! In fact, I was almost thinking that tonight I might carefully pip ones that haven't pipped yet...just in case they're still alive. The two that I "helped" pip this morning should be ok until I get home this afternoon, but I will help them a little more then if they haven't hatched by then. At least I will know I tried! :D

June milked 4 lbs this morning! :woot She's been really increasing her production lately. I'm glad for the milk, but I'm trying to get her to gain weight, and if she keeps putting it in the bucket we're not going to get anywhere! :/ Last year (her FF) she milked about 2-2.5 lbs in the morning, and around 2 lbs in the evening. Now she's milking about 4 lbs in the morning and about 3 lbs in the evening. I can't keep up with all this milk!

OK - so for people like me...how many cups or oz is that? :p
Silly goose. A gallon is 8 lbs, so a quart is 2 lbs. So 4 lbs is 2 qts, half a gallon, 64 oz, or 16 cups depending on which measurement you wanna use. :p Or you can say, it's too much to keep up with unless I really start making cheese or soap.
