Oh, definitely!! I got bored with BYC a while back and find this forum a better fit. I will tell you that all the extreme animal lovers really started to stick in my craw over there!

And just how many times can you read a thread on My Dog Killed My Chickens, or Neighbor's Dog Killed My Chickens or What Breed is this? Or, even, look at the pristine, luxurious coop that $2000 can buy for my 4 pampered, air-conditioned, diapered, saddled chickens that I can't stop hugging and loving on to the exclusion of the human race!
Would you like some Peta bread with that? :/

Sorry  but that site brings home to me just how many people out there waste time, money and love on animals and have no compassion for their fellow man. It's always upset me and makes me feel like I'm visiting another planet where animals rule and we are their
servants. :p
I'm soooo glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. I do love all my chickens and dogs, but my world does not revolve around them. They are part of my world (Just don't tell my doxies, I don't want to hurt their feelings)
I find myself visiting this site way more often than BYC now. It's nice to be able to share our commonality (sp(is that a word?)) I just love ya'll bunches. :love

good idea

blog - wow I hate that word for some reason, and is it a "real" word??--LOL-LOL
:)
I'm with you - for some reason the word "BLOG" just sounds silly to me. :gig

I'm on another forum that has a whole section for Blogging - admittedly I've never been IN there, but its a good idea for those that like doing that.

I think Blogging here is a great idea....yes, when I found this site, BYC went to the wayside. But I do like their idea of a personal homepage...posting about their coops, farm projects, etc. So something like that would be great over here I think

Great idea Beekissed! I blog anyway, but its not about SS all the time, its about 'other' things as well, lol.

I think it would be a great venue for those of us that want to rant, or post about the good things we accomplished. New or old, life issues, or other things. Again, great idea...I'm in! :)

Me too, for liking the 'Blog of the Month' kind of idea. Also me too for the word 'blog' giving me hives :p but I guess it does appear to be here to stay in the language, alas.

FWIW, if (well, "since") people are going to spend a certain amount of money on something other than basic necessities of life and helping other people with their basic necessities of life, I think it's WAY WAY better for 'em to be "wasting" money on loving animals and trying (usually fairly successfully) to give animals a comfortable life, than to be "wasting" money on things like furniture and decor and other consumer goods, vacations, decorative clothes/jewellry/hair/makeup to adorn themselves with, expensive hobbies, etcetera.

You'll never get two people to exactly agree on what precise standard of animal care is the borderline between 'necessary' and 'extravagant'.

Just as you'll never get two people to exactly agree on the precise borderline between necessary and extravagant on any of the OTHER abovementioned things (on which let's be honest, we all, unless we are nuns or religious hermits, DO spend SOME money on those things... ;))
