SD, our chapter also has yearly visits from Oregon FFA chapters. I know Elgin is one that comes I forgot the other one.

Out of the eight buffs I hatched back in March three are left. They have been sleeping outside for two weeks. I could never get them in theyd sleep in the hemlock behind the coop. There is 2 roos and 1 hen left. A coon come by and feasted last night. Im truly about to cry......... :barnie :hit

So sorry. I'm thinking that's what probably got my hen. After all, whatever it was had to climb a 6 ft fence, and then tried to drag her thru it.

That is so discouraging! I know how that feels, a dog ate all but two of my pullets I hatched out last year that I was so proud of. I love dogs but THAT one I shoot at with the BB gun.

Oh BB, I am so sorry to hear about your chickens. I have to say, of ALL the animals...I like coons the least!

Ouch, so sorry! We had to shoot a coon last year who had climbed into the coop- she hadn't gotten any of the chickens yet. 2 days later we found a baby coon wandering around helplessly. SO cried over that one. The baby got taken in by a wildlife re-habber. In the next state.
