Sorry to hear about your losses. I agree that that particular doe may just not be good mama material.

I loved the imagery of the female muscovy smiling away in her house hunt!! :D

Snowing here today. Thought we'd get mostly rain, but it turned to snow. :sick

Sure wishing for spring so I can use a small hoop house and get some pullets out of my garage and into fresh air.

FINALLY my rabbit had her babies after more than a week of working on building her nest. First she pulled hair, then she used straw, then more straw, then more hair, and finally this morning she gave birth. I saw some movement in the nest, but I haven't gone in for a count yet. This mini rex has had two litters before (10 and 13), so I'm hoping for a good number.

Two other rabbits I thought were due, but didn't seem to take. :(

TGIF - Hoping to quilt this weekend on a new project, but I should probably do the binding on two other projects so I can call them done. :/

I did finally finish a sewing project that I'll have to show off soon.

Boy did the rains come last night/early this morning. The creek was way over the banks. I had to drive through an area of flooded road to get out this morning. If my neighbor hadn't just gone through in his low car, I wouldn't have attempted it in my SUV. It was a rather short stretch, but running pretty swiftly.

I was awake by 6:30 listening to the storm, but as soon at it let up a bit and the lightning moved east, I ran out to rescue some chickens in a hoop house. I had recently put them in there. They are still young and haven't gotten on to roosting, so they were walking around in mud and all wet from rain that blew in from the open side. I had 13 to haul through ankle deep mud and back into my garage to a temporary brooder coop I had set up in my flatbed trailer.

Only quilted a bit this weekend. Where does the time go???

Don't you just love all the fun that comes with spring.... We beg and beg for it to get here all winter and then when it does we all go "dang, I forgot how crappy spring can be with all the melting and mud"

Glad the chickens were okay! How many birds do you have now? I know you and Aly were doing some rearranging....

Weren't those thunderstorms something?! TR said the fog this morning was so thick that the drive to work was terrible.

Stormed all night here. No fog, but dodging the flooded roads was a chore.

Hope everyone is safe!

Yep, the storms were a doozy - but I gotta say I'm as happy as a pig in a waller!

WE'VE GOT MUD!!

I've just been so sick of winter, the white death, and frozen everything.

Now the Big Thaw is on, mud is here, so are worms - or at least the ducks and chickens are digging them up!
