I wish that would work for this little garage! :p The bottom half is concrete block construction and the top half is wooden. If we pulled, the top half would come off or the bottom would continue to crumble.... :/ Someone tried to brace it in the past but it just developed new cracks.

My landlord had wanted us to tear it down when we moved here but I can't bear to do it. I think its cute! I think it will be a cute place to have my little roadside stand for awhile. For now, its a good place to store wood and my fridge that I sell eggs out of.

Isn't this weather glorious??? Absolutely the most beautiful fall weather! :love

That is funny, I can just see that thing falling over on your wood! Then having to pull the dang thing down just so you could heat the house!

What was that about building a fire so everyone could come and bring a blanket???? Only thing is, the blaze would be so bright we couldn't see the stars anymore!!!

I'm planning a bonfire party on Sunday night. Come on over!

Quick question:
If I were to buy one of the Joel Salatin books on raising animals, what title do I look for?

Also, where did you find your Basic H? My uncle used to sell the stuff and we liked it, but hasn't for years.

Thanks :D

Becca, try on Amazon.com for the cheapest prices for his books. I like his book, You Can Farm, because he describes the variety of livestock he raises and how they raise them. Did you all see the most recent Mother's mag? Did a whole feature on him and his farm was so green and lush that it hurts the eyes!

Hey, guys...wanna see the funniest face on my place? This is Black Betty doing her "Got any food?" face:

She is so very funny! I will try to upload more pics of the sheep, as they have grown since I first got them and are getting fat on stripping my garden right now.

Cause they raise goats? :D

I think they really, really like their goats and feel they know more than anyone how to raise one. Sort of like the dominant group that was over there before and their cows. No one was gonna tell them that there may be a better way after they have been doing this same thing all these years.....

It's called closed-minded. They feel if someone else is touting another and possibly better way, then this must mean they were mistaken all this time and this just cannot BE!

Same wall Joel Salatin meets every time he gives a talk to a group of cattlemen. The proof is in his results and the excellent stewardship of his land. He won't be passing down a worn out old farm to his children. His farm will be improved upon with his methods over the years and be just as thriving and richly productive then as it is now.
