I am currently reading one called "What Will Happen if you Pray for your Family"
Bee, could you please provide the author's name for this one?

If you like books about prayer, Sheila Walsh has written a book called Get Off Your Knees And Pray. It talks about how we get so wrapped up in the legalities of prayer - posture, what we will say. When in fact, "Every sound we utter, every thank you we say, every tear we cry in God's presence is prayer." We shouldn't worry about how we talk to God, the important thing is that we *talk*.
I like that theory Kel.....I have never been much of a formal pray-er more of a chit chatter-er. Glad to know that God will still be listening even when I do not take the time to do t in a formal way. I always wondered if the way I did it was appropriate.

I'll get you the author to that book a little later...it's upstairs by my bed and my company are taking naps right now...and my bedroom floor squeaks and creaks like old bones!

I feel the same way about prayer...not very often I pray a formal prayer. Mostly I just talk to God. I'm not irreverent, by any means, but I mainly just talk, explain, question and offer praise just the way I do to most any person. I'm more comfortable in this way.

I think that is why the book, The Shack, appealed to me so, was because he just talked to God and Jesus, even pushed Jesus playfully as they were walking along. I often imagine a relationship like that when I get to Heaven! :)

I just talk to God also..just about whatever, where ever I am at. I also try to remember to thank him thru out the day for all the little blessings I receive.
I know the times I have sat down to pray "formally" I get lost...so I just talk to him normally.

Me too, delia! As a hospice nurse, I drive around several counties all day, so I have plenty of time to talk to God. I'm sure the other drivers think I have a Blue Tooth or am just crazy! :p

I sold my old utility trailer, bent frame and axle and all! For $40!! :weee The guy didn't care about all it's many flaws and needed repairs and was very glad to get it. It was kind of sad to watch it go down the road....that trailer has moved all my worldly goods many times for the last several years. I know, I know.....getting sentimental about a utility trailer is one of the signs of a true hick!

My truck was fixed promptly by a mechanic here in town. I had drawn $300 out of the bank, as he told me it would probably be about $250. The bill came to $299.77! :D He seemed a little taken aback that someone was happy to pay the bill presented and gave him a dozen eggs to boot. I was so tickled to get it fixed so fast and by someone nice, and to find a good mechanic~FINALLY~ right down the street from where I work, that I couldn't stop grinning.

I was afraid it was the transmission...so $300 felt like a wonderful reprieve! :celebrate

This weekend was like a great vacation for the soul. It was so very good to get to visit with my Mom and sisters(the quasi-normal ones). I made some lemon sugar scrub and gave it out as gifts. It is simply heavenly....I love the smell of citrus essential oils! :drool

We had great food, great conversation, great love....can it get any better than that? :)

Took a small beard-like growth off of Black Betty's chin yesterday....weird! I didn't know ewe sheep grew beards....do they? It didn't seem to hurt when I gently pulled it off and it came off easily. Bled a little and stopped. Very odd! :sick

I planted some mums and herbs this weekend...feels good to plant something that will come back next year. I scavenged some bagged grass clippings from a local lawn care business....fermented grass clippings smell like fresh cow manuey..did you all know that? Probably shouldn't have put them on my flower bed right next to the driveway..... :p :sick

It helps that I have two unwilling slaves for labor of this kind! ;) They hate it that I am always thinking of things "to do" and complain often....but then, a mother with a bee in her bonnet is a force to be reckoned with..... :D

Pretty soon I will have my favorite working partner living with me....THEN watch the dust fly! :D

Speaking of dust....... :sick That old, nasty hay is making me sneeze! :tongue

Time for a meeting of the PISSI..... :barnie

Heck, we still have to finish painting the outbuildings, the fences and gates.

Then build a new fence around the garden and one across the orchard...

..and a cupboard in the kitchen, and paint Mom's room, then the living room and eventually my room and the boys' room.

And replace the tile in the bathroom and put down new linoleum in the mud room....

.... and build new steps up to the porch...

Well, YOU get the picture! :p
:th You made me tired reading about it all. :bow Wow.
Does mopping the floor count as "doing your fall cleaning"? I'm almost motivated to do that.
About the PISSI group- There's an herb called butterbur the members might want to read about.

Laura, I will have to read up on that butterbur! :D Thanks!

Hey...I revived the off-grid thread,so feel free to post. I will sit down when I have a little more time and put a little anecdote down but I don't want folks to get bored with reading about just me and mine. They get enough of that on here! :p

I have a hard time thinking of you as Boring. You tend to be a doer, so you have lots of stuff to tell us about. You could actually write a book if you ever have enough down time. :pop I'll check out the thread.
