This is the worst I've ever seen him act....it was like having a stranger in the house. I told him to take his punishment like a man or take the bus....he chose the punishment. Must want to stick around after all, despite his recent bad attitude towards living "here" at home.

I'll never forget the two times I had to spank.

First time was when she carelessly walked a horse onto a busy street when she was about 7. (She got a swat and a time out!) The horse spooked and ran through the parking lot of the stable (which was located on a busy street). It scared me to death!

The second time when she was in the 3rd grade. She had a sass-attack that no time out could cure. Finally she rolled her eyes one too many times and I let her have it. A simple swat and she cried herself to sleep. It was such a peaceful evening! :p The next morning my sweet little girl was back. :)

Luckly standing my ground and picking my battles has kept her in check. No simply means NO and she knows better than to argue...so far.

Hey Bee!

I was looking at the photos of your place on the post pics of your homestead animals thread and saw your raised beds! OMG, they look wonderful! If I drove past your house I would have a wreck b/c I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of those wonderful raised beds on that lovely hillside you have. :love

Everyone should go and look, I forget what page it was on, but your house and garden are a show stopper. :)

People around here had never seen anything like that and we got a lot of questions...even the kids on the school bus asked by children about them. People on the other side of the county asked about them....some folks said they drove past my house on purpose to see what I will do next!

The sad thing? We took them all out because they were too wide, not deep enough, couldn't work them properly, etc.

This year will be better....wait and see! We are putting in an oval garden and will trellis every vine along the inside fence perimeter! Will also do permanent pathways again and will actually have a good tiller to work the ground.

I'm so pleased that you liked it! :)

Isn't it gorgeous? I swear that property is my dream come true! I am so envious ......plant me there and I would be happy for the rest of my life. Although it might be tough for Hubby to make a living :idunno

It's tough for anyone to find a job around here but they seem to manage. There is also a lot of family farms that are passed down generationally that folks can live on. That helps a lot. They seem really mad that my landlord had got to purchase this old place...they still resent "outsiders" owning any land around here! Just like the old west rancher days, huh? :p

I do love this place and it is always a wonderment to me to drive up to it....even I gawk at it sometimes. I used to drive by this place and dream what I would do to it if I lived here.....and now I do! :D The things I would do are coming slowly, as funds are not readily available, but they are coming. I pretend it's really my property.... :fl
