I lost 1 dog in January 09, and the other in March of this year. I almost dug up the one when I buried the other. It got me upset all over again, too. :hugs

I've missed this thread, and maybe its OK until now that I'm reading it. I've got tears literally running down my cheeks at noontime. Good thing DH is watching football.

I'm so sad for you Bee. But I've done that too, and it was hard to let go of their bodies after they passed. Make sure that Lucy is buried deep enough. My puppy Driver, who was accidentally run over by my DH last March, was buried deep, with two boulders on top. Just a month ago, in early October, something dug him up, and scattered the plastic bag and his bones all over our property. Of course, my dogs had to roll in it, and for two days I was finding bones. I sobbed all over again.

Lucy will be waiting for her mama, someday soon! :hugs
Murphy, what a sad tale! :( Quite horrible! I was concerned about Lucy's shallow grave but the ground was too dry and hard to dig much deeper. We piled some pretty massive rocks on top, though, and Jake won't allow any predator to enter the yard, so may she rest in peace...literally!

She has 5 cats buried near her also. We're getting quite a graveyard up there in that orchard....could be why we had such a beautiful crop of huge and tastey apples this year. :/

Denim Deb, I can't even imagine that....that would be horrific! :(

I have a huge pet cemetery in the garden too. 4 cats and a dog. And a few chickens, but that was when I was newbie I now just throw over the hill in the back for the rock climbers to find.

Yeah, Maggie was such a good girl that I can just picture her wandering up to some kids and them running in the house saying "Mama, can we keep her???? Pleeeeeeease???"

I hope that is what happened to her, of course we would like to have her home but we haven't been able to find her anywhere. Chocolate labs are expensive and relatively hard to find around here so if I found one I would want to keep it too...especially one as sweet as Maggie.

Bee....you just swing on by Powhatan and you can camp out on my couch or next to the fire pit....whatever suits you!!!

You all are gonna be very surprised if I make an appearence! :D If an SUV pulls up and a large, black dog jumps out...it just may be me! We'll shoot the breeze! :)

I'm going to try to ditch this truck and go back to an SUV/Van before I take any trips.

I'd certainly invite you up, Bee!
However, there isn't much to do in my apt..

I do have a deck of cards though!

Maybe when I have my own place (a REAL place, not an apt.) then you can come up and visit. :p

Oh, BB....us SS folks don't need to be entertained...we talk enough to pass the time of day! :D

Sure would be grand to have a big get together in the middle somewhere....maybe New Mexico? Always wanted to go there!
