Thanks Everybody!!! :hugs It was a nice birthday :bun :bun :bun :bun

Yay on the mealworms! Keep us updated, so I can decide if DS#2 should try it or not.
You bet! I am excited to see what difference the extra protein will make in my girl's appearance and behavior. I'm hoping :fl that the added protein will improve their plumage and that they will stop picking at each other.

Then I'll start "El Rancho Gusano*" (A nod to "El Presidente de Pollo") :gig

And how did your crackers turn out? Must have been good if you did 4 batches!
The crackers came out great! WBF warned me they were addicting! The key is to roll them really thin. They were great movie snacks! :drool

Thanks Northed!! They are actually pretty easy to make. Do you bake bread? I just use my favorite bread dough and add a bit more sugar. But there are a million recipes out there! I'm going to try this recipe the next time!

OH CL, that link is pure torture! Why did I look? :he Bad enough that I spent half of last night looking for a cracker recipe (where is WBF's BTW?), now I am drooling over cinnamon rolls :drool :hit

Maybe I can tell DS#2 we are gonna do an extra, 'home ec' lesson, where he learns to make cinnamon rolls?! Bake for your sickly Mama Boy, bake! :gig

Sorry SSDreamin!! But doesn't that recipe sound yummy?? I like that the dough is made with milk and eggs as opposed to my basic bread recipe. And here is the cracker recipe... I use AP flour and add 3 tsp baking powder and 1 tsp salt for a little flavor and a slight rise to the crackers. I also put the seasonings right in the flour mixture before I add the oil and water. Roll 'em pretty thin!! :drool

Mealworms should be here tomorrow!!

WBF, you ought to give him your cracker recipe, too.
Oh yeah I need to make some of those too! here ya go Cheerio :D

Crackers

2 c. flour (I use self rising but it actually calls for plain)self rising adds flavor IMO
2/3 c. warm water
1/3 c. oil

Mix well. Divide into 2 balls & roll each onto a greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with desired seasonings(I use garlic and chives :drool but you can use whatever you wish. cheese is good!) Cut with a pizza cutter to desired shape and size. Bake @400 for 10-12 minutes.

You will CRAVE these dang things :/ They taste like Cheez-its if you add cheese to the dough too and sea salt the tops!! ;)

I am definitely making crackers in the near future!! :drool That's the easiest recipe I've seen yet! Have you tried them with cheese? How much did you use? My guys are cheese freaks, so that will be what they'll want first. I'm thinking garlic and chive :drool

Wonder if anybody here would mind if we had crackers and cinnamon rolls for dinner?

Isn't that silly Snapshot - I thought the same thing - had a fleeting picture of mealworm crackers! Not enough of a deterrent to put me off crackers for dinner though!

125 ml (1/2 cup) crumbled dried mealworms
175 ml (3/4 cup) firmly packed brown sugar
