70s today. Supposed to be 60s Monday and dropping down to 30s with rain. Brutal on the animals, not sure if I’m even prepared for that yuck. Last year we got so much mud it went over my boots, hoping to not have that much mud this year but who knows. I feel so bad for everybody who lives in actually cold climates! One good thing about my wife's and granddaughter'a cows. They taught my cows what a hay round is for. I was beginning to think the steers thought it was a pasture ornament. Or it might be with all this rain that it's because the hay round is on top of the highest part of the pasture.

My granddaughter asked at the dinner table last night "we only eat pawpaws cows, right grandma?" I just put my head in my hand and tried not to laugh because it was such a serious question for a little girl. Grandma said that's right! Did you hear that pawpaw? I replied Yep.

Morning. We are cold actual temp is -21 deg F. I hope the chickens did well, 1st winter for them, welcome to reality! Thankful I hauled wood yesterday.

Back to 29 above tomorrow, almost a full 50 degree difference-crazy.

Today I am going out in the snow covered garden and gather fresh rosemary and thyme.



It is Soup making morning , I have my garden carrots, green beans, zucchini in the freezer.
