Nice rains developed just to the east of us, we got no sky water. I fell asleep (nap I reckon) and was woken up by the sound of thunder, jumped up and I got all excited for nothing. So I flooded the rows of broccoli,.califlower and brussels with the garden hose as the sun was going down. And It just hit me this very moment, why it's called a garden hose.💡need to give the orchard trees a good root soaking also, with the garden hose (not orchard hose) ok it's a watering hose! Why do they call it a garden hose, anyway? 😂 Perhaps I use the watering hose tomorrow... IDK

Neighbor told me at church this morning a deer didn't quite clear my fence. He noticed it Friday when he bush hoggin. I said I'll get on that after church. I thought it was gonna be a worse than it was. Nope just the top wire pushed down a few inches, I fixed it and made sure the wire stays this time.

This is where cattle stay during excessive heat advisories. Down in the bottom in a grove of trees. I think they eat everything they could reach in there, I know I couldn't walk through it and had to use the chain saw to clear a path to run the fence. But it looks like a cool relaxing spot to hang out in the heat of the day now. Maybe I'll go hang out with them down here one day. Looks like the may have found me some fire wood in that fallen log too 👍

Good Morning ALL!! Here's a little tidbit of the rest of the news I forgot to mention last night. FH Boss gave us our wedding gift early- FREE USE of the wedding venue for both the ceremony and reception!!!! It's down near Brunswick which is close to the North Carolina border. Ceremony is going to be at 11 with reception immediately following. Either on July 2, 3 or 4th FH is going to take me to it seeing how I've only heard talk of it.
By the way I only made 1/2 pot of coffee and going on 2nd cup so come get it!!!!

My late day "look like" storm blew out but, news showed it was outskirts of severe storms several miles north of me. 😵‍💫 But suppose to get t-storms late today into overnight. Heat going to low 90s to fuel storms. Well, I'm ok with rain, rest I can do without.😁

Already 77....guess summer is here. 😂. Hope to get the wire on those insulators today...interrupted by "that" weather concern yesterday.

Of course -- coffee, chores first 😁🤣

87 today, humid, had 2 pop up showers of 5 minutes each... enough to get your shirt wet... moved round bales off some of the fields so DS can get them stacked in the new hay barn/shed.... trying to get them off the fields sooner so the rain water will do the grass good and not have big dead spots where the rolls are sitting...
Rain and severe weather forecast tomorrow with winds of up to 60 mph in the early afternoon...

Worked in the garden a little, putting down some more mulch hay on thin spots... mowed a little of the lawn and chopped up some of the stuff I used the walk behind weed eater to take down and raked some of that and got it in the garden also. Hope to finish the mowing in the morning and see what the weather brings.
a walk-behind would be so handy here

Moving slow this morning. Was awake couple of hours last night, then slept late. I’m somewhere in the I don’t care range. Going to get plywood tomorrow to get put on the roof Wednesday morning. Neighbor will use his tractor to lift it to the roof, one of the men from church is coming to help. Need to replace 5 sheets across the front and back, due to rot. Will get done what we can, triple digit temperatures this week, knocking off at 10 AM so we don’t get a heat stroke.

Four of us spent 5 hours yesterday sorting through "stuff" from the volunteer group. Years of stuff from 5+ locations. Got a lot accomplished, still more to do.

I crashed early, no dinner, slept over 12 hours. Back is barking today
