Looks like it might be a Comice Pear.... very sweet and less "grainy" than some of the others...more rounded and shorter but has a typical pear neck...Next no spray variety pears are ripening. I thought the pear tree was a starking but now I know it's not. I'm unsure what variety it really is. My neighbor said it was a volunteer
It's a medium sized, golden skinned pear with bright yellow highly sweet flesh and no grit at all. No wonder the wasps, hornets, yellow jackets and honey bees are all over them. any ideas what variety pears this might be?
