So Wifezillla and Abi are coming today, and my house is a mess and so is the yard!! Why can't I be like those lovely women on tv who manage to pack their houses for moving and still manage to make their houses look pretty? *sigh* where's the napalm when you need it?

*laughs* You need heels and the 1950s house dress to pull it off. That's why.

OMG!!! I love love LOVE Abi and 'Zilla! They are funny and intelligent and engaging and patient and everything!! :love :love :love Thank you Thank you Thank you for giving me the hands on experience with this! Granted, we (I) ended up completely cutting through the windpipe, and we all got splashed with blood, but it was informative, and quick, and kind of fun (but not in a psycho killer kind of way). I smell like several kinds of poo from the meaty and from catching the ducks to put in boxes, I have dried blood on me and I'm going to go take a shower after I clean everything up, but oh that was grand. And they invited me to come down to help with the ducks tomorrow! If my car comes home early enough tomorrow morning I think I'm going to. And they brought cabbage and kimchi! (I think its kimchi?) :D Oh, now i'm sad i'm moving. But thank you!

We had such fun!! I got to tie the bird to the tree with many the ribald comment. And auntie doesn't mind that I don't like to hold living things. I was fine touching the bird once it died though.

They didn't use the feet for voodoo, though.

Well, it is definitly oily :) should I keep adding water? the water level keeps going down! Also, it looks like I probably won't be able to make it today, which is kind of disappointing, but I suppose it's good cause it will give me a chance to take care of this carcass and make the raspberry and peach jams and do some regular canning of the peaches as well :)

Does anyone have a simple peach cobbler recipe using oats and molasses instead of flour?

Add more water as needed. After it simmers today, strain and take off any meat you can and add that to the strained stock. Then you can spice it and make soup if you want of baggie it for the freezer.
