I'm sloooow getting started today. Tons of things to do but don't feel like messing with any of it. :( I'm blaming it on the fact that it is Monday, plus I'm sore from wrestling those bags yesterday.

We looked at building materials we have on hand for the rabbit shed/lean-to and will need a bit more lumber. Have to figure out what to do about the south and north ends as I'd like to have them open for nice days but be able to close them off for rainy or snowy days. What to do, what to do... :idunno Not stressing over it as we're not even sure if we'll be getting any of the rabbits but I'd rather have a plan in place, just in case. ;)

Well, need to go accomplish something...

You two are killin me with your slow days!! I keep telling myself I'll have one soon, and did Sunday....but i already need another :p

Dawn..as i type I hear the neighbors dogs howling at the coyote pack we can hear in the distance. We have a panther out here..been sighted a few times lately. They don't exist here either, no matter how many times people see them ;) Invisible wildlife. Yep. That's what it is

Once I finally got started, I actually got a lot done. :D

Dried two rounds of applemint in the 4-tray dehydrator...the place smells like a giant pack of Doublemint gum. :gig

Worked on getting rid of the wild blackberry offspring in the orchard (farmers almanac said today was good to mow to retard growth :fl )

Rearranged some log terracing in the orchard to outline the future permanent fence and eyed future pathways for ease of access and laying out of soaker hoses or drip lines

Weeded the raised beds and plucked caterpillers from the fruit trees and fed them to the chickens

Watered plants that needed it

Stared at the future rabbitry but no inspiring ideas struck me :idunno

Made a gallon combo lemon balm/bee balm/applemint tea for my drinking enjoyment...all grown here :celebrate

Raked the wet leaves from the bags into a pile

Started laying old newpapers and cardboard down around the fruit trees and added a mix of leaves and shredded leaves as mulch

Hauled indoor water

Hmmm...not a bad list for having trouble getting started! :D

It's funny, they don't have any problem w/letting us know that black bear have now been spotting in the area, as well as wild boars. But a cougar? People are told they saw a bobcat. And the dead deer one took in a tree? It jumped there and died.

Makes ya wonder how much those peeps are getting paid to tell the bs stories. We've heard of the "deer jumped in the tree and died". My question is just what in the heck was that deer running from! :hide

Last year, my mom and aunt had gone someplace, were heading home in the dark and saw a large bobcat with a long tail...can't wait to tell them about the one we saw!

Well, the tomato plants are screaming "we need to be transplanted" so I'm outta here for now...

That's got to be whats going on, pinky! Mystery solved! :bow

Had to come in to find my work gloves...hauling 4 x 4's to level the frame to put the future 'mater transplants in. Will get pix of just how level the spot I'm setting it up is. They should change "The Natural State" to "State of Optical Illusions" since the spot looked level, but in a 4' run I've got a few inches of difference. :th

Cracking the whip and getting back at it...

I want to see some of those flying deer. Or the rain clouds they travel in, if they arrived that way.

Hubby used to see some of those invisible critters too. He was telling his Mom their were giant pigs in the woods back in Georgia for years. Then somebody killed Hogzilla and proved him right. Hogzilla' s length and weight were originally exaggerated, but the remains were dug up later and they figured out he was a hybrid of Hampshire pig and wild boar. His real weight was about 800 lbs.

Maybe someday they will prove your deer don't fly into trees and your kittys are Big with long tails.

Got the new-to-me frame chicken/varmit proofed and in place but the skeeters were getting a bit fierce by the time I finished that project so I didn't get my maters repotted. But, I've got everything set up and ready to work them tomorrow. ;)

Just a wee bit of difference from the west end to the east end:

Like 5" of wee bit...

I also broke out my swing-blade and got some unwanted greenery beat back, here and there. I've got dad's electric weed-whacker to use but I spend more time fighting the plastic string feed than I do getting anything whacked back. I don't think it likes all of the rocks. Atleast with the swing-blade, I'm cutting stuff down and the rocks are sharpening the blade at the same time, right? :gig
