I'm glad you found your way back too! I'm so impressed with the huge mushrooms and the pictures too. I love seeing everyone's beautiful pictures, especially since I can't take a good picture for anything.
Another funny "lost" story for your entertainment:
About this time, last year, doc and I decided to take the dog we had then (Bubba J) back to the pond. It's broad daylight in the clearing we've got plenty of time to get there and back, it's not a long walk, right? Wrong! Doc was in the lead and the further we get into the woods, the darker it is. We end up at the southeastern fence line instead of the pond on the northeast corner. Never a dull moment around here!
So, did anyone get the license plate of the truck that hit me? Made up a gallon of the fire cider tonic last night, just because I had enough ingredients to do so, and was up until 4 a.m. getting it put together. My hands, arms and back hurts but we shouldn't be getting sick again this winter so it's all good! Didn't expect the ginger and horseradish roots to do two half gallons and messaged doc to bring home another root of each. Even had enough of each root that I now have "cuttings" to plant for harvesting next year so we won't have to buy them anymore, well that's the game plan, anyways. Guess I'll be making up another gallon during docs' week off as I need to get to the health food store and get another gallon of Braggs' ACV.
Used our new 10-in1 to bake a pizza last night and I love it! I am soooo not going to miss using our ancient propane oven anymore!
Well, doc will be getting up in a few minutes so I'm going to get off of here for a bit and get Cheyenne outside so he can wake up with his coffee and not her help!
Be back later this evening and I really mean it this time!
At least you got lost on a decent sized property that had recently changed appearance. I could've got lost in a paper bag when I was young . . .
mmmm pizza
Yaaaawn...I am tired! 5 hours of sleep and a good part of the afternoon outdoors is working wonders towards an early-to-bed night for me!
Spent the late afternoon dragging in wood for this weekend (it's starting tomorrow for me and is our friends' fault! ). Drug quite a bit into camp and have a lot more that I''ll haul into camp tomorrow that is piled at the edge of the wood line. Went ahead and burned garbage this evening and stirred up the ash pile (in the fire pit) real good and will clean that out tomorrow (and haul the ash to the garden).
I should be finishing up cleaning but I just don't have the energy so that is on tomorrows list, too.
I'll check in early tomorrow sometime, but won't be around for the weekend...just wanted to gives ya's a heads up on that!
Still have a bunch of stuff that I want to get done but doubt it'll all be accomplished and oh well, I guess I'll live! Just going to worry about what has to be done and not worry about it.
Didn't sleep worth a darn last night since I'm so excited about this visit!
He should be getting here in 4 or 5 more hours, so I'm going to get off of here and see what else I can knock off of the ever-growing list.
Hold the fort down, while I'm gone and hoping everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Will be back sometime Sunday evening to fill ya's in! Love y'all!
