I made it thru the night w/out getting blown away. It's still raining, but doesn't sound that heavy. And, it's not that windy out. The winds are less than 20 mph, w/some gusts that are less than 30 mph. We're at the tail end of this, and by mid afternoon at the latest, it looks like it should be all gone. I hope so. Have no idea though, when we'll get our power back.

Eggs in the incubator are in lock down. I'm getting better at candling them. I've taken out several that I was sure wouldn't make it-and I was right. But, I also had 3 or 4 that cracked on me, so I don't know if I'm getting any chicks from this batch, either. I just can't win!

OK, I am NOT a happy camper right now. Once again, my hubby lent MY generator to the neighbors. And, he thinks they broke it. He saw them out there w/flashlights, etc last night. He said they had every light on in the house. I NEED my generator, and cannot afford to get a new one. If it's destroyed, I'm really going to be upset.

There's no church today. So, that means, unless I leave, I have to spend several hours w/him. And, he drives me nuts! I know he's already had a beer. I'm hoping I don't have to leave. I'm not ready to yet. I want to have a clean house, and stuff sold if I need to leave. A) that gives me some money and B) it will make it easier to get my stuff out. :/

This area is crazy! I tried to find the news video, but had no luck. But, the lake near me was on the news. It has completely overflowed its banks. And, it looks like there's may be damage to the road.

After I gave Stormy his 2nd feeding, I ran over to my parents house to check on it. I start down the one road I normally take, go around a bend, and a bit farther up there's a tree across the road. They had a barrier up on the other side, but not my side. :he So, I had to turn around, and go a different way.

I get to my parents house. They have a lot of trees around their house. But, other than a few branches, I didn't see anything down. I moved one out of their driveway. They have power-and a wet carpet in the basement.

Coming home, I needed to get gas for the generator. (I'm so tired of hearing all the generators in the area!) Plus, I wanted to see what some of the areas looked like. I get up to one road. It's a 5 way intersection. The car in front of me makes a sharp right. I make the other right-only to see that the road is closed for flooding. Fortunately, there was a parking lot right there, so I was able to cut across it to the other road. This takes me down to the lake. I get down to the lake. And, that's closed! There was a road going sharply to the left, and one that was a normal left. I ask about the normal one, it was closed. So, I go down the other one. They probably should have really closed that road too. It was deep. I get down to the next road. This was the first road in the area I couldn't go down. I was able to turn onto it-for a few miles. Then, it was closed again, and I had to take a right. Not a problem really, since this was taking me in the direction of my house, but I had planned on going to a gas station right down there. But, once I got on this road, I didn't have any more detours. I don't know how many miles I went out of my way to get home.

OK, the power just came back on! I'm so glad. Hopefully, it will stay on. I think my hubby is planning on getting a shower, then in a bit, I'm going to get one. I never got one last night, and have been wanting one all day long. I just never had the time to heat up some water.
