OK, I've come to a conclusion, the pile of stuff in the basement is growing. I thought for sure I'd be done yesterday morning, but I'm not. And, this morning, I can't work on it. It's right under my daughter's room, and I'd be making too much noise. I don't want to awaken the beast! So, I'm working on other stuff this morning. Right now, I have a loaf of chocolate chip banana bread in the bread machine-and I won't get to eat it! I have the farrier coming this morning, and it's for him. (Of course if he doesn't want it.....:D)

I'm leaving earlier this morning than I've been leaving. I have to get to the bank, get to TSC, and then my regular feed store. They don't sell the goat feed that I use at the feed store, and they don't sell Stormy's feed at TSC, but TSC is near the bank, and I have to almost go past the feed store on the way to the farm, so it works out.

Yesterday, I got to the farm, and you couldn't even tell that I had cleaned up a bunch of the manure. It looked like they had done all there overnight business in the spot I had just cleaned. I got that all cleaned back up, and some more as well. I've asked Santa for a dump cart that I can hook up to the back of my lawn tractor. I figure that would make my life a lot easier. I could just drive that in, pile the poop up in that, then drive it out. Once full, I can take and dump it. I've looked for a used one for months on CL, but no luck, so I decided to ask for one.

And, they've changed the forecast. Instead of a dry week, they're now calling for a chance of showers today! So, I will be trying to fix the gutter and hope that that makes a big difference to that puddle. Poor Misty had trouble getting into her stall for a couple of days. The water had frozen, so I had to break the ice B4 she'd even attempt it. But at least that did help dry everything up some-just not completely. I've been praying that all the rain will go elsewhere for now, like Texas, or other spots that need it. But, so far, no luck.

So, after the farrier leaves, depending on what time it is, I'll be going home. They're not calling for rain until later. I'm hoping I can do more of the firewood and the garden B4 it hits. I won't be putting any clothes out today. Instead I washed some blankets. I don't normally put them out on the line, so it doesn't really matter.

And, since hubby and my DD won't be home later, I should be able to work in the basement then. Maybe if I get it all done today, I'll be able to tell for sure if the stuff is growing.

After reading WTF's journal, I was worn out B4 I ever started! But, I had to get stuff done, so I started early this morning-on dishes. I swear they multiply when I'm not looking. Then again, that's not really what I started on. I had the farrier coming today, and decided I was going to give him a loaf of chocolate chip banana bread. I make it in the bread machine, so I got all the ingredients in, then started up the machine, then did dishes. Only problem I had? This bread machine doesn't have the correct setting on it for the bread. I used the setting that was the closest to what I needed. But, it wasn't quite done cooking. So, I was able to put it on the bake cycle, and finish cooking it. It was still warm when I wrapped it in foil, then put it in a plastic bag. I also threw a couple of blankets in the washing machine.

Since I had the farrier coming, I needed to leave earlier than I've been leaving. I needed to get everyone fed B4 he got there, and I had errands to run. I went to the bank, then TSC, then the feed store. They only had 1 bag of Storm's feed. I'm not sure when they'll be getting more, and when I'll have time to go and get it. But, this should last for a couple of weeks, at least.

I get to the farm, get my horses fed as well as CL's. Then, I go to feed all the cats. That's when the farrier pulled up-15 minutes early! I had been going to get gas on my way to the farm, but didn't. I was so glad. He was drinking a cup of Wawa coffee when he got here, so I gave him his present. He was thrilled! It was still warm, and he liked the sound of it.

I haven't really been grooming the horses the way I should w/all the rain and everything that I'm trying to get done. For everyone else, it wasn't a problem, but poor Stormy has thrush real bad in one hoof, so I'll be working on getting that cleared up. I'm really liking this farrier. It takes him longer than the guy I was using, but that's because he's so particular. He's a bit OCD when he does hooves, and that doesn't bother me in the least. I'm a bit OCD myself-I've been known to make them straighten up a picture in a restaurant because it's crooked and is bothering me-so we get along well. A couple of times, he did take a bit of a break, but his type of break is my type of break. You stop what you're working on, and work on something else. He put the tire on my mower, and sharpened my knife. And, he might know someone that has a small propane fridge for free or practically so! I've decided that there's just no way I can put in an electric one, so propane it is. I have the room for one. Then, I plan on getting this type of oven. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Camp...tt=camp+oven&WTz_l=Header;Search-All+Products I'd have a shelf over the fridge. I've been wanting one for a couple of years now, but just haven't had the money to buy one. But when I'm ready, I'll look around and see if anyone has it cheaper.

Once the farrier left, it was getting late. KN had shown up to feed horses. She's not feeding all of the horses right now, just 3 mares that really need the feed. She takes them out of the field and sticks then in the riding arena since there's only 2 stalls, and it's still muddy in her field. She got them fed, then got a call that she needed to take her bus and pick someone up. So, she couldn't put them away, nor could she feed LF's horses. So, I put the horses away, and fed the others. I also took a can of stuff (Flex Seal) that's supposed to stop leaks, and put it on the gutter on my barn. We got some rain today, so I'm hoping that meant no water came out in front of the stall door. Once that was done, I fed the chickens, took care of my cats and left. And, when I got home, I did nothing. It felt good. Tomorrow, I'll get a lot more done, but I needed this. I'll be flat out cleaning, etc tomorrow and Saturday, so this was the only time I had to relax.

I'm still forging ahead in my Bible reading. I've started Psalms. And, if my calculations are correct, I'll start the NT late next week!

It's hard to believe, but I FINALLY got the area of my basement cleaned that I wanted done! :weee And, I started on the living room. I had been going to work in the garden some yesterday, but changed my mind. I can work on that when hubby is home, but other than dishes, or folding laundry, he gets upset if I do any inside work while he's home.

I also got more of my field cleaned. I had hoped to have it all done earlier in the week, but there's just so much since I hadn't been able to keep up w/it because of all the rain. I'm not even half done, and of course, they add to what's there daily. But, I can tell that I'm making progress. And, last forecast I saw is calling for just a few showers, but nothing serious, and the temps are still supposed to be higher. So, I should be able to get a lot of that and the garden done.

When I did up my spears, I'm not redoing the rows where they are. I decided I'm going to move them. And, I have a feeling that I won't get all of them into the new space. So, I plan on leaving what I don't need where it is for now. Then, in the spring, if I have any that doesn't come up, I have that to use for fill in. Plus, I'll be able to sell them then. Don't know if I'd be able to now.

Well, I need to get up and get moving. Talk at y'all later.

I read some this morning, and will read more later today. I'm into Psalms now, and should start Ecclesiastes by the time I go to bed. It's a bit tiring, but yet at the same time, there's something to be said for reading like this. I may, at some point in time do something similar, but not sure yet.

I prefer Proverbs to Psalms. I started falling asleep last night. I was beat anyway, and honestly wasn't feeling the greatest. (I had stirred up a ton of dust cleaning, had to use an inhaler, and take some allergy meds, and STILL felt bad. So, I figured I'd make up for it today. I also fall asleep reading the lists of genealogies, as well as all the different offerings, etc. I'll be glad when I get to Matthew! Much easier reading.

I actually like the genealogies until they start to run together then I skip ahead and flip back and forth using that section as referrence only  NT is definately easier, but I love some of the stories of the OT! I am particularly fond of Jacob, though I like several others too.

I think my favorite is probably the story of Ruth. But then again, I like romances anyway.

I like Ruth too. It is a sweet story :) My favorite has always been Abraham though. I am always drawn to that story, and can read it over and over never getting tired of it.
