I like parts of the story of Abraham. One of my favorite parts is the offering of Isaac. And, my favorite name for God is in that story, Jehovah Jirah. (Hope I spelled that right!)

Yeah that an awesome part. I equate the entire story to each person generally. For some reason my mind doesn't break it all down into parts :hu  I'm a bit strange about how I go about reading scripture :p I also find it interesting that the bible wasn't until recently broken down into chapters and verses. I wonder how it was to read the bible before with no breaks in the stories. I think the spelling is Jehovah Jireh, but I'd have to look it up to be sure myself. I know what you mean though. ;)

And, if only more Christians could not only learn that name, but really put it into practice, what a change it would make for so many. I'll admit, there are times that I have trouble remember that God will provide when I can't. But, I see it time after time after time.

I need to get to the dentist next week. I had a filling on Monday, and I told them that it felt like it was too high in one spot. They told me see how it feels in a couple of days, and if it's still bothering you, come back in. Well, it's still bothering me, and it's making it hard to eat. But, I probably won't be able to get there until Tuesday. :/

Yeah, He always provides. I've seen evidence of that constantly over the last 36 months

As much as possible, I'm still trying to run my motorcycle out to the farm. It saves me a ton on gas, and since I'm not working, I've been really tight for money. And, since I'm not working, it means I can go out later if I need to. Today was supposed to be partly sunny w/a high in the mid to upper 40s. I didn't leave as early as I had planned to because of hubby. But, it was partly sunny and warm enough to ride when I left. I was a bit chilled, but not too bad. And, when I got to the farm, I did turn on the heater in my tack shed. Then, I went to work. First off, fed RU's cats, otherwise I'm tripping over them. And, since it was a bit cold and I had the heater on, I left my tack shed closed. It meant that I didn't have them going in there and eating Cindy's and Rerun's food! Plus, one of the dogs lost it's electric collar, and she'll also come over and eat the food. :somad

Next, I get my horses fed. Someone came down the lane right about then, but I didn't recognize the van. They went down to where KN and PT have their horses, so I walked down there to see who it was. It was friends of PT's. She lets their daughter ride one of her horses, and now the father has offered to do any electrical work that's needed on the farm! RU has an automatic waterer that needs to go in. She's talking about having him help her do that.

I walk back down to my field. I'm still needing to wear muck boots when I feed, but the puddle is drying up. They're not really calling for any rain soon, so maybe it will be all gone soon. I convince Stormy to go out the gate near RU's house so he can graze on the grass there. Wish I had thought of doing this in the summer. He finally looks like he's getting weight on the top line. Maybe he would look even better if I had done this B4. Then I grab my manure fork and muck bucket and get to work. Once again, they did all their business in the area that I had cleaned. I got that all cleaned up, and did another 8 buckets past that! And, I still have quite a ways to go. So I didn't get the field all done this week. And since I've asked Santa for a cart, I'm thinking I'm going to wait until after Christmas to get rid of Mt. Manure. That way, I hopefully won't have it piling up again.

When I got done, I gave Stormy his 2nd feeding, fed my chickens, then bagged feed. I was so glad to get into my tack shed! The temp had dropped, it had gotten cloudy, and a bit windy. Once I had that all done, I cleaned the litter box, got fresh water for the cats, put Stormy back in the field, fed the cats and left. I was so cold by the time I got home. It was only about 40 degrees by the time I got home. I went right down in the basement and threw some wood on the fire. It took me forever to warm back up. I was glad I had some soup in the freezer. I thawed it out and ate it. That helped. But, I didn't get outside to work on the wood until after 4:00. I had to turn on a light just so I could see.

I also folded up a lot of clean clothes. I still have more to go, but just didn't feel like doing any more. I'll probably get some more done tomorrow.

Hubby has promised he's going to put the linen closet back together tomorrow. And if he does that, we can hopefully get the elliptical in the basement, and maybe his inversion table. Then, I can FINALLY get the living room cleaned, and get the tree up. I'm hoping I have at the very least all the housework done by Christmas.

Forecast for Monday called for a chance of some light showers overnight, then cloudy Tuesday morning w/more rain late Tuesday and Wednesday as well as Friday and possibly Saturday and Sunday. They were wrong!

I get up yesterday morning, and find they had changed the forecast. Now they were calling for rain on Tuesday morning as well. I get to the farm-it's raining. I get the horses fed, and get Misty's rain sheet on her. Since it was supposed to be dry in the morning, I was hoping to FINALLY get all the poop cleaned up out of my field again. And, I had driven thru the puddle next to the road the day B4 w/the tractor w/no problem, so I was going to hitch up my trailer so I could get the 3 RBs out of it. Instead, I took a large tarp, and the best I could, covered them in my trailer. They need to get out by Tuesday. I'll be going to the auction again, so I'll need an empty trailer. They're not calling for much rain out of this system, so maybe I can get them out one day.

I had my doctor's appointments yesterday. I got my family upset on Monday because I made chocolate chip banana bread, then made another loaf on Tuesday morning, and they didn't get any. I took it w/me to my doctor's appointments. Both doctor's offices were thrilled. My husband has finally gotten my linen closet put back together, so yesterday morning, I spent time getting stuff back in there. My daughter was supposed to help me get the elliptical down in the basement last night, but she wasn't home when I got there. My son's car broke down, so she was over at his house. She couldn't really help, but at least she could make sure it didn't fall on top of him and gave him a way to be able to go and get parts. He wasn't able to fix it, so he has her car for right now, so the elliptical is still sitting there.

I talked to hubby when he left from work. He was going home, and was going to get dinner going. I did a bit of shopping on the way home, and figured when I got home dinner would be ready. I got home at around 5:45, and he hadn't even started to cook! (He normally gets home by 4:15.) Plus he was drinking and had the radio blaring. I had planned on getting all the trash out and cleaning the fridge. Wasn't about to do it w/him in the kitchen and drinking. My leg was hurting, so I went and did the animals, and went in the bedroom. And from then until he finally went to bed at just after 9:00, he drove me nuts. I can tell him to leave me alone when he's like this and he will-for about 5 minutes. Then, he'll remember something else he wants to tell me-or the same thing and forget that I told him to leave me alone, and comes and bothers me some more. :barnie I cannot do anything at that time that requires concentration. I wanted to read my Bible, and couldn't, so I have reading to make up. :somad I tried to read once he fell asleep, and I knew for sure he wasn't going to bother me, but by then, it was past when I normally go to bed, so I was falling asleep. I'm in Jeremiah now, and should have finished most of it tonight. I'll try and make up a reading today, and another one tomorrow, and then I'll be back on schedule.

Oh, I had the dishes all done yesterday, and part of the kitchen pretty much cleaned up. You can't tell now.

You are speeding right through the Old Testament, how much do you read a day?

I'm trying to read for about 1 hour, 15 minutes each day. Any less, and I don't think I'd make it. Any more, and I wouldn't be able to handle it-at least not where I am. If I need to, I'll increase it by a bit to finish.

We had some rain last night, but nothing too heavy, so I was hoping I could get the hay out of my trailer, or if not, at least work on cleaning up my field some more. After all, though it was cloudy, it wasn't raining, and it looked like we were in a dry spell. So, I get to the farm and get my horses fed as well as CL's. Then, I hear RU start up the tractor. I go over to see if she needs any help. She did. She has this huge tarp covering her RBs, and it's very difficult to move, so I helped her. She gets out 1 RB. The RBs on the other side were no longer covered, so she decides that she'll go thru my field to get some of those to put out B4 they get completely destroyed by the weather. We get over there, get 1 on the spear-and realize that the tractor is now stuck. We were able to get it unstuck, but there was just no way that we could get any of the other RBs out. The ground is still too saturated. Her idea? Roll the RBs out to where she could get them w/the tractor.

I had a big problem w/that idea, the RBs had gotten wet, so they were heavy. And, even w/3 of us (KN was also there), it would be a hard, dirty job. I hadn't brought clean jeans w/me, and I planned on going Christmas shopping when I left the farm. So, while RU was putting out that 1st RB, I went to my truck. I had a 30' tow strap in it. It has a loop on either end. I took it over to where the RBs are, took one end and went around a RB, and ran the one end thru the loop on the other end We then took the other loop, and were able to get it on the spear in such a way that it wouldn't get pulled off. RU backed up the tractor and the RB got pulled out of the muddy area to an area where she could now get it. What a difference having that strap made! There were a few that we had to position some either for getting the strap around it, or so the tractor could pick it up, but it was much easier getting them out because of that strap. She was able to get hay out for all the horses, as well as putting a couple of bales where they can be gotten easily.

One of the stores I went in was TSC. I have 3 electric chainsaws. The biggest one (16 inch) doesn't work. It needs a part that hubby can't find. I have a 14 inch I got after that one broke. The chain needs to be sharpened, so I can't use it. Then, I have a 10 inch saw. It actually came w/a pole and is my oldest saw. I don't know how many cords of wood I've actually cut w/that. I've been telling my hubby for some time now that I can't keep the chain on, but he doesn't listen. And, after reading something that someone wrote on here, I realized that in all probability, I need a new bar. So, I get to TSC, and look for the bar. They have every size but that. And, the guy agrees w/me that I probably do need a bar. I'll be going to another TSC tomorrow and hope that they have one in. It's not supposed to rain tomorrow, and I want to get a lot of wood done if at all possible.

I'm finally starting to feel sleepy, so guess I'm going to get off of here and try to go to sleep. It's a couple of hours past my bedtime, and I need to get up in about 6 hours.
