Hey Deb,

I hear you. What is it with people stopping by at the most inconvenient timeand then keep on talking while you are itching to get back to work to get stuff done so you can have a halfway decent evening and have time to make dinner? I usually dont mind the people who come over all the time, but those that only stop by every other month and continue to tell you about their life story.

I could really use more days like today. I got quite a bit done, but at the same time, feel relaxed.

To start with, I had to make a fire this morning. It was colder than I was expecting (42!), so the house felt cold. I was worried about the nuggets, but they were fine. I wasn't really hungry, so other than an onion ring and a cup of coffee, I didn't have breakfast. Got a load of clothes out on the line, and a couple more folded and put away.

I also worked in the garden a bit. I'm going over it just to get out anything that's popped up lately, then later this week, will be getting the rest of the fence up and getting stuff planted! I did about 1/4 of it today, and it didn't really take me that long.

Got to the farm, and got the horses fed. Then, I checked the chickens and cleaned the field. And, w/the buttercups mowed, it was much easier.

Once that was all done, I started a fire and worked on buttercups in my "yard". That meant I was close to the fire, but still getting stuff done. Once I had the fire going the way I wanted it, I wrapped a potato in foil, and threw it on. Let that cook for awhile while I continued to work on buttercups, then put a steak over the fire. When they were both done, I sat back and ate a yummy lunch of salad, steak, baked potato and a brownie.

Hubby and I got the pallets out of my horse trailer yesterday and put them down for my deck. I didn't want the metal tool box I store my bagged feed on the pallets. So, since they're a little shorter than my shed, I have it sticking out at a right angle. But, it's a bit to low, so I took everything out of it, swept it out and dumped it, got some broken fence posts and stuck them under it. Everything is now back in, though I do need to bag feed.

I'm now sitting here relaxing w/a cat on my lap. Hubby is supposed to stop on his way home from work so we can work a bit more on the coop and run. There's no one here, so maybe we can get it done. I still have a bit more to do today, but not much and I feel relaxed. Wish everyday was similar to today. :/

Well, I'm now home. And I think hubby and I are getting old. It's only 5:30 and we're talking about going to sleep! I have leftovers that I might eat for dinner. We had some showers move in that weren't supposed to be around so hubby just went home and got the clothes off the line for me.

I was going to go to the hay auction tomorrow, but he's told me to get another bale off of RU's guy. Last bale was cheaper than I was expecting, $30, not $35. And, they're larger than the ones I've been getting for $25. If I had had the other bales, I would have been out by now. I still have a couple of days at least to this bale. I just might talk to her hay guy (I know him) and see how much he'd charge me for RBs and get a bunch from him. If they're not too expensive, it's worth it since he delivers. So, since I'm not going, hubby can take the truck again, and we can leave the stuff in the Durango. Soonest we'd be able to work on the coop/run now is Thursday.

For some reason, all I want to do is sleep! But, I'm not, if I did, I'd get nothing done today. This morning after hubby left for work, I so wanted to go back to bed, but I didn't. Instead, I ironed a whole basket full of clothes, folded up a basket of towels, and worked in the garden for a bit. I now have 1/4 of it left to do B4 I can plant! Then I went to the farm.

At the farm, I got everyone fed, cleaned the field, weeded some more of my fence line and a bit more of my yard, fed Stormy, bagged feed, took care of the chickens and the cats and went to my Drs appointments. I stopped at Audi's between offices, then came home, fed the animals, unloaded the Durango and am now ready to collapse. I went to bed B4 9:00 last night, slept until almost 5, and feel like I haven't slept for a long time. Wish I could shake this, I'd get more done. :/

We're thinking it might be allergies and the weather. Barometric pressure has been down because of a storm system moving in, and there's pollen everywhere! It's raining now, so I don't know if I'll be able to get anything done at the farm. So, I may just go and take a nap.

Well, it's still raining, which means I won't get much done outside today. But, that's OK. We really needed the rain. It's days like this I really wish the horses were at home. I'm asking myself what I'm going to do out at the farm. I need to wait at least 2 hours between feedings, or it doesn't do me any good. He won't eat the 2nd feeding, and it doesn't really accomplish anything. Maybe I can pull everything out from under the cot, fold that up, and give that area a good sweeping. That's about all I can come up with. If they were home, I could go out, feed, then come back in and work on the house work.

I did check the nuggets when it was hardly raining. The tarp I put up kept their food dry. And, they either were under it, or in the dogloo when it was raining the hardest. They're nice and dry. I did get a bit of a scare. I didn't see one of them at first, but I found him.

Oh, and I was seeing grass come up from the seed I put down. So, this rain should really give it a boost! I'm not sure if I'm going to get any really coming up where the ground was the hardest. When I get the next section ready (in the fall), I may just have to see what I can do about rototilling certain sections. As it is, I'm planning to keep them off this part of the field until some time in August. Then, I'll start letting them on for short periods of time, and gradually increase it until I'm ready to section off the next part. I just wish I had more room for them. It would help a lot. I've thought about putting Honey back in w/RU's horses, after all, that's who she belongs to and we're not doing pony rides any more. But, I have a friend that wants to come over and start riding her, and this makes it easier. It's just w/the small area, 3 smaller horses/ponies is better than having a haflinger in there!

Hey Deb,

Sorry to hear you are feeling tired. Maybe it is the time of the year, or has to do with the unusually warm March we had? Are you getting all your vitamins?

I think it was just this storm system we had moving in. Now that it's hit, I feel much better. We've had rain off and on all day. I do wish I didn't have anything to do, though. Today's the kind of day I like to curl up w/a good book and do nothing. :/
