Broke down while I was in town today and bought the stuff for s'mores. DH was pretty whiny last weekend, because I didn't have any chocolate (yeah, think about it, hubster - Me + chocolate = no more chocolate :p ), so I figured this would be his Father's Day gift. What can I say, I'm a big spender ;)

Well, I've had my dinner and it was good! Now, I'm getting ready to make the smores. SSD, should I wait for you?

I did have to round up most of the chickens. Ralph, Angel and Penny went back in their old pen. I was able to grab Ralph and tuck him under my arm. I head back toward the new run. Here comes Roxi chasing after us. I expected her to follow me right in the pen. Nope, you could tell she wanted in, but apparently, she couldn't find the gate. So there I am, still w/Ralph, trying to get her to come in. She finally comes in. I drop Ralph, and close the gate. Head back over to the old pen. Just about when I get there, Angel and Penny jump up on a board that I had for them to roost in. I was able to grab both of them. So, w/a bird under either arm, I head back for the new run. I was able to get the gate opened w/out dropping either of them. Put them in. Then, I just had Sissy to get. She was in w/her old flock. There's an old ladder in the coop. She's at the top of it, so I had to climb up and grab her! :barnie She was NOT happy, but I didn't care. I was able to get her in, and have them all locked up again. And, they're going to have to stay there for now. I'm hoping that hubby will be willing to help me get my lean to up and my fence. Then, they'll be stuck in my area, and I shouldn't have to round them up anymore. Plus, I'm going to work some more on having them come when I call. But then again, they come when they're in the pen-just not outside of it.

Never did have my smores. RU came over and we had some whopping big marshmallows. They were just too big for smores. I roasted them, got water (and managed to soak myself), put out the fire and went to bed. I slept until the time my alarm goes off and woke up. No roosters! So, I dozed off until around 6:00. So, I can get a good night's sleep-in spite of the roosters. I just need to find a good cot mattress. My back hurts a bit.

Horses are fed, so I'm going to get cleaned up in here a bit then make my breakfast. I have about a million flies in here still! :barnie

Just read somewhere that muscovies are fly eating machines, LOL, as if you needed another critter :p

Glad you slept pretty good, even if you need a new mattress. So neat that you can do that!

Hope your day goes smoothly and your weather is as beautiful as ours!

I put up 3 fly strips and they're pretty much full already! I'll be changing them real soon.

Fly bait is the answer when they get that bad - but be very careful if you use it. It will kill more than just flies, if you put it in the wrong place :/

I'm wondering if they're attracted to my shed or what! I go out in the field, and I don't have hardly any flies. :hu
