As of right now, it looks like it will be clear for much of the morning. So, I plan to try and get out to the farm ASAP. Then, I can hopefully get more of the weeding done and clean the tack shed when it does rain. According to the radar, they'll be a system moving thru at around 8:30, 9:00 so we'll see what all I can get done.

Happy Tuesday!

Hope you get lots done and hope Licorice is behaving herself!

It's rained all around us on and off for the last week or two - but we've had barely a drop. So much for setting up the new rain catchment system.

Today was horrible! I'm ready to cry, go back to bed or something!

First off, I get to the farm and ALL of my horses are in the seeded area. My first thought was that I had left the electric off. I know Misty and she's very much afraid of the electric. (Comes from B4 I rescued her w/how the horses were kept.) Nope, the electric was on and it was all connected. But, it wasn't working. :hit So, I got their feed, put the electric rope down and proceeded to feed them. Of course Misty and Stormy didn't come thru. I had to go back and call them.

Get the horses fed and turn the electric off. First I get everything put back up the way it's supposed to be. I also made sure there was nothing growing against the fence and pruned off anything that was even near. Then I went to take care of the charger. I have 2 fence charger that work on 2 D batteries. I had just brought some batteries out w/me for something else, so at least I had them w/me. Otherwise I would have had to run to the store. Check them both out, and only 1 was working. It's now set up in place of the solar one.

Because of the weather, I hadn't planned on doing any manure clean up today. Well, judging by the amount of poop in that area, they must have spent most of the time from when I left yesterday until I got there and chased them out in that area. So, I go get my mower and cart and clean that area up. I didn't have a whole cart load and I'm behind in cleaning, so I went in the main part and cleaned up. I have trouble starting the mower if it's hot, so I don't shut it off when I'm using it. I get almost all done-and the mower stops running. :rant And, I couldn't get it to start up again. :hit I go and get my jump box and get it started. If not, I would have had to get the truck to jump it.

I'm finally able to get to the weeding I wanted to get done. My phone rings. It's RU. She got called in to sub and needed hay put out for 2 of the herds. W/the weather moving in, there was no way it could wait. So, I go and get the tractor and get the hay out. My horses don't seem to really like what I have out for them, so I decided while I had the tractor, I was going to move my RB feeder. That way, they could pick thru the hay easier and hopefully not try to get back into the seeded area. Once I did that, I also went ahead and pushed all the manure into a better pile. Once that was all done, I put the tractor away and went back to my weeding. Just around 12:00, I was finally able to finish up on the little section I was working on.

I got Stormy out for his 2nd feeding. While he was eating, I get feed bagged. Then, I let Misty out w/him and let them graze on the good grass for awhile. I start working on cleaning up my tack shed a bit and got a little done. 2 of the cans are now on the platforms.

It was getting really windy out and I had to keep retying the tarps I have over my hay down. I'd think I'd have them secure-and they'd come loose elsewhere. But, I think they're finally good.

Tomorrow's trash day, and I had a whole bag to take home as well as a bunch of stuff for recycling. I'm trying to get that all done and my phone rings again. It's my hubby. He wanted me to make phone calls. My phone was almost dead so I told him I'd do it when I got home. He started giving me a hard time. By now, it's around 1:30. I hadn't eaten any lunch and had to go to TSC B4 I could go home. So, I'll admit to losing my tempter and yelling at him. :hide

Get to TSC and find what I need. I'm going to put up new wire around my field. What I have is galvanized. I was going to get a thicker wire in hopes it would carry the charge better. Instead I went w/aluminum coated wire. It's supposed to carry the charge better, so we'll see if this works. I don't think the horses are getting enough of a shock.

Get home, and get the goats fed, and everything else that needs to be done outside B4 the rain hits. Get in and I can't find my glasses! :barnie I KNOW I had them in TSC. Found a pair of cheap glasses I have for emergencies and was able to call the store. They've had no one turn any in. So, either they're in my truck some place, or they just haven't been found yet.

So, I'm now relaxing and hiding from the world. I need to get up and do some dishes plus get my shower. Just in case we lose power, I don't want to have to worry about getting clean.

:hugs Ahhhhh... what a day you've had.

After a day like that I'd just wanna crawl into bed and wait until tomorrow. Even though it's almost over - I hope the rest of your day gets better.

Forgot to mention, I also brushed up against poison ivy. I washed the area, and just have to hope I don't get it.

Lordy what a day! :hugs I sure hope you can at least have a relaxing evening.

I'm having trouble with our electric fence too. They are great when they work right but a PITB when they don't. :/

Thanks, guys. I'm sitting here waiting to see if we're going to lose power. We're under a tornado watch and have some nasty looking storms moving in. I hate it when we have weather like this because I'm concerned about my animals out at the farm. And I won't know until tomorrow whether or not everyone is OK.

I know what you mean. I go out and check the stock every time we have a bad storm. I come in soaking wet, but I'd worry myself sick if I didn't go check. I would really worry myself sick if they were on another place where I had to wait until morning.
I hope the tornado and all the really nasty weather misses you! :fl
