I realized this morning we have another roo to kill. We have one that must have been late developing because I really truly thought this was a hen.

But today it looked so obviously like a rooster I felt silly. We ate his brother two months ago when he began crowing. This one still does not crow but has begun to mate with the hens. That is why I was checking it out closely today. Sure enough, it is developing rooster feathers. But this bird is nine months old! And it still doesn't crow. I thought that seemed weird.

Do you have any roos at all? If not, this could be a hen that takes the place of a roo. I've heard of that happening. From what I understand, it will act like a rooster, even mating w/the other hens, but isn't actually a rooster.

My back and shoulder are giving me fits this morning. I just got out of a hot Epsom Salts bath and am sitting on the massage cushion. I went to bed at about 12:30, so yeah .... :tongue Hope you are not up under similar circumstances.

Nope. I actually got a fairly descent night's sleep for the first time all week. Went to bed at around 9:00, had no one wake me up, so I woke up on my own at about 5:15. Hope your back feels better. Mine were hurting me yesterday.

You have a good day! Glad that you are feeling rested and well. I usually love early mornings when it is all quiet about the house, you can get so much done then. :)

If other people weren't sleeping, I could. But, I'm not as ignorant as they are. They have no problem w/waking me up, even though it means I have trouble falling back asleep. (Happened 2x this week. :rant ) I won't do that to anyone else.

Then perhaps some nice relaxing puttering is in order. ;)

My hubby is pretty used to me being up and about at odd times. He sleeps with a fan and can sleep through most of my noises.

My aspirin is starting to kick in. Think I'll try to lay down for a bit. Enjoy the sunrise for me.

Actually, I'm thinking of going back to bed myself.
