I'll admit that right now, I'm enjoying being in the house! We finally have a nice sunny day, but it's colder and windy! :hit

Today for the first time in a week, we had sunshine! But, we also had wind and colder temps. But even so, it felt good to be outside.

It was so wet in my field yesterday that I didn't even touch it. Today, there were places that had dried out a lot more than I was expecting. But, it also got below freezing last night, so there were places that the ground was frozen. But, the ground is so churned up, there were places I couldn't get the manure completely cleaned up. However, since I got the majority of it, I figure it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I also got my mower started and went and dumped the manure in the cart. My plan is to clean the field every day thru Tuesday, then dump the cart. Monday, I'm planning to finally get done what I need to do to get the pea gravel in it. I actually have water in the stalls because of all the rain. This way, I know they have a dry spot to stand. So, once I dump the cart on Tuesday, I plan on spending the rest of Tuesday and Wednesday to get the gravel down in there.

I finally got the rest of the wood cut up that I had in the yard. I mixed it w/some of the wood out of my wood shed. My wood holder is about 3/4 full. I'm hoping to go tomorrow and get a load of wood, then cut it up and stack it in the wood shed. Then, I hope to be able to get another load, and leave it. I might put it some place in the yard where it will be more in the sun than where I've been putting it. Then on Monday, I'd cut that all up and fill the wood holder, and put the rest in the wood shed. Then if possible, go and get another load. They're calling for dryer, colder weather next week so hopefully, I can get a lot of wood done.

Other than that, I didn't really get anything done. I think I need to start taking lunch w/me to the farm then working outside once I get home. I've been coming in the house and getting some lunch. And, by the time I get lunch, I just don't feel like doing anything else.

I'll admit to not getting much of anything done today. I didn't sleep well and I had a headache, so I basically took it easy. KN fed for me this morning, which was nice. And, it was warm enough this afternoon that I took the bike. CL will be feeding for me in the morning, and I should be able to take the bike in the afternoon for the 2nd feeding.

Oh, and for the first time, I got 5 eggs that I know are from the pullets! Last time I got 5 eggs it was because my one older chicken was laying. And, the one egg is small, so I'm thinking one of them has just started to lay. Now I just need to find people to buy all these eggs. If worst comes to worst, I'll take them to the auction, but last time I did that, they didn't bring much a dozen. :/

Well, I didn't take the bike after all. I had planned on leaving around 3:30 for the PM feeding. But, when that time rolled around, hubby and I were busy making the doors for Honey's old stall. They're done! And, KN should be able to be there tomorrow, so she'll help me put them up. This way, once the inside is finished, I can open up just whichever side I need to get into. The one side will be where the feed is. The other side will be where I have my tack.

And, w/KN there tomorrow, I'll be able to get a bunch of other stuff done. If she can't stay the whole day, I'll do just what I need help for while she's there, then get the rest of it done after she leaves. So on Tuesday, I should finally be able to start getting the pea gravel in the stalls!

I wish you were too. KN drives me nuts at times. Plus, since she and her hubby share a car, it can be a problem. He gives her grief at times over taking it, or he'll decide to come w/her and no one gets ANYTHING done! :barnie

I am jealous of your 5 eggs. I have 12 heritage RIR hens and am only getting one egg a day. Up until 4 days ago they have been on a long holiday. :smack slackers. I am replacing them with leghorns.

If I can get her to hold things, that will be good enough. That's basically all I need help for. And after today, it's going to be cold! So, I should be able to get my hay w/no problem. I'm hoping Wednesday. But if not, I'll either have to miss my Bible study on Thursday, or stay at the farm late on Thursday since we could get bad weather on Thursday. Then, I'm hoping I can get hubby out to the farm on either Saturday or Sunday. I want the insulation put up in my shed. W/that done, I'll finally be able to be able to put the heater on and stay warm in there! I also need a hole drilled thru the wall so I can put a propane hose into the shed. That way, I can hook up a 20 lb tank instead of using those little cans of propane. That's expensive.
