The thing I have always liked about Papillions is that at heart they are a hunting spaniel. Pretty no nonsense little dogs. I think you will be very happy with your choice.

I will post pictures when I have a chance to take some. This one thinks he is a dinky little wolf!

We are talking about getting a bassett hound....I love our labs but I'm ready for something smaller.....not as small as a papillion but he sure is cute, honey!

I like the name Bolt :) Specially if he runs all over the house like one....

Papillon means butterfly in french. I'm not a small dog lover either, but I think you made a good choice. congrats!!

thanks guys I think I made a good choice too considering I truly didn't want to do it lol

but the &*&%$%^ peed on the carpet in the living room. Yup.

I had to contain myself from throwing him thru the window and out of the house forever. Honestly it twisted every single nerve I had.....but as you can see, he survived. I wanted to throw him but I didn't lol

I told him (the dog) if it continues he is going to be an outside dog.
My nerves can't take this for too long haha

holy moly what did I do?

My first puppy.....well, I had to set a timer when he was out of his crate, because he would hold it for only 30 minutes, so I set the timer for 25 minutes.

The little *&%^% could go the entire night, a full 8 hours, in his crate without peeing but only a half hour outside his crate. Grrrrr.....but as the trainer told me (while laughing right at me!) that I needed to learn how dogs think and not expect him to think the way I did.

I cleaned up a lot of pee at first. Guess I was a slow learner. You need one of those good enzyme cleaners that actually "eats" the urine molecules so that there is no smell left that attracts him back to that spot.

He would also pee if he got excited or if there was any "venue change," even if he'd just been walked and couldn't possibly have anything left. Wow, they can really squeeze out some more if they really want to. Wish I could do that. It would make those long car trips much easier. :p
