Some people use those swiffer mops/brooms for their floors. Instead of using the disposable pads, they use rags and just barely dampen them. It may work for you.
HI AB
thanks for the info.

I bought a swiffer and will be using rags etc. barely damp just like you said. I never had to care for a wood floor before.....but I sure love the look!!!
thanks

Hey Karen glad to hear all is well for you.

Yes you should slow down and smell the flowers but it's nice to know business is good.

We are heading to Yellowstone in two weeks. I can't wait to go. The drive should be long enough to relax. We are staying on a lake / marina out the west gate. Driving into the park to see the sights. DH and kids looking forward to doing some fishing. I hope to take a gazillion pictures.

I have bamboo floors. One good thing is they are very easy to clean. Yes the dirt seems to pile up all over but easy to remove. I usually vacuum and use a microfiber mop with what ever wood floor cleaner is under the sink.. My friend used vinegar and water on hers. I must say better than carpet no matter what.

I am still managing to sell a few eggs here and there. Just enough so the fridge does not overflow. Nothing like yours mammoth sales.

I have a pair of hawks that live across the road from me. The like to fly in the winds and drafts at the top of my hill. Which puts them about 50 yards over the house at most times. a couple years ago they had a baby. I think. There were three for a short time. I watched them playing and I think teaching the younger how to hunt. Very beautiful.

Glad to hear all is well. Take care. Gina
I like your hawk story! I too just like checking out these types of critters. They have that mystery and killer look to them..HA HA I like that hawk eye!

I have spotted tons of vultures on the roads lately. Road kill is up and those birds are BIG! Come around the corner and there are like 4-5 vultures in the road...cool to see up close and how they "hop" around when on the ground.

thanks for the info on the floor. I just am surprised how much "dust" truly blows around the floor and that is only 1 day after I vacuum....hmm...LOL

WOW WOW WOW you lucky gal. going to yellowstone!!!! I wish I was closer to the West...HA HA....that is such a long way for me to camp. I KNOW YOU will have a great time!!! Farthest for me from NC this year will be VA and TN.....gotta keep the trips close this year due to money and Tony's work lay off and all that stuff but that is fine. I can have fun at any campground..HA HA

enjoy and be sure to have a safe trip!

I am going to Steel Creek which is only about 1 hr. away toward the mountains in about 2 weeks. Campground on a big river...great swimming and fishing for Tony....with a neat water slide thing. Just to get away for 2 days and slow down.

wow I love camping..LOL

Hey honey, glad to see that all is going well with you guys. We have the baby pool, with a slide! Does that count? The kids have been in it every day this week and I have been tempted myself...
hey lori

LOL--get in that pool!! I did when Nicole had her bigger pool wtih the slide....only problem on those pools is the clean up. Tons of grass and draining and cleaning was hard actually.

Her inflatable pool is medium size with no gadgets...just to get wet on the back porch while I work. The mudroom/egg washing room window looks directly onto the porch and she plays and soaks while I wash..LOL--works good actually..LOL

hey farmer chick, how in the world have you been? i missed your posts while i was away, im glad to see every thing is going well for. i hate you are so busy but i would rather be busy than bored. i agree about the a/c its a love hate relationship i love the cool air but i HATE the bill. i guess we should go and jump in the creek and cool off.
Hi firem3
yea AC stinks but I love it. Use it sparingly but in NC hot weather, it is a must have. I have cut electric bill so much I am proud of the lower bill now...so a little splurge during hot times is definitely for me!!

FC you are one busy FarmerChick. LOL
At least your busy makes you money. I am busy but its not making me money. I guess if you don't look at the whole picture and count my time you could say I am saving on my grocery bill by having all that fresh stuff I hope my garden makes this year.
I wonder sometimes if its worth it after working all day. But that first picking and cooking usually makes me believe its worth it.

Is Tony still feeling ok? Sounds like he is but wanted to ask and know for sure.
hey 2dream
yea summer is the season for work work work big time --spring and fall are medium with winter giving me some relief.

Tony is feeling better but they don't know what his problem is at this point?? He gets his "symptoms" but milder......honestly gal I don't have a clue right now!! But he is plugging along til I guess a new symptom comes and it might shed some light???

Yea I hear ya on working hard and making no money..LOL.....all I do is for money but the side kick is the fresh produce!! I love it also!! Yummy and yes it is worth the work! BUT we gotta keep it in perspective somehow...cause this hard work can break the old back..HA HA

I told Tony a couple weeks ago if I didn't want income from the farm I would cut back SOOOO much it would be insane...sell almost all animals, back to just a small garden and sell the land. All seemed good til I said, sell the land! HA HA---he said NO WAY, never sell..HA HA......oh well, wealthy on paper, poor in property taxes forever I guess. HA HA

glad all is going good for you! hang in there.....soon the work of harvesting all the good stuff is coming and freezing and canning and all that joy!! :)

but sure tastes great in winter though!

Tues or Wed
Tues or Wed

I couldn't remember what today was....then I realized it was THURSDAY! EEEkkk......wow, I have screwed up this week and hope to get back on mental track! HA HA

Remembered in time to get the garbage to the curb at least! :)

Taking part of the day off. I am tired.....so tired. You know that bone, noodle, dreary tired? I got it! Sun came out for 2 days and was wonderful, perked me up. Today is overcast with huge storms last night. Funked me out again. I need more sun! :) Can't seem to keep my eyes fully open today....so going to lounge in a bit.

1/2 day for me is small load of laundry (Hanging out now in the overcast cloudy day)

feed all farm animals (Done early)

had to hit the road and deliver soap to stores (Done)

stopped at Bojangles for Nicole - poor kid was starving so I had to feed her on the road

stopped at 2 banks (Done)

Made 2 batches of soap today (Done)

AND going to wash 8 buckets of eggs in just a bit (UGH UGH) but have to catch up!! miss one day of not washing and the eggs pile up like insanity!!

Then some type of easy dinner and I am done for the day. No extra critter work, no mowing (cause I mowed the world yesterday), no extra house work etc. etc.....going to just slow down today.

Maybe try to get to bed earlier tonight, like before midnight. WISH I COULD sleep better. UGH....

I am in the "big sigh" mood...HA HA HA

But it shall pass as usual.

off I go to start egg washing and then watch some tv or something. need to vacuum the pool but it can wait til tomorrow.

bye ya'll

FC - egg washing question for you if you don't mind. (You may have answered this question already somewhere but please don't make me go in search of it. LOL)

What do you use to wash your eggs with? Do you have an egg washer or do you do it by hand? (oops, two questions)

Enjoy your 1/2 day off. With all the work you have listed that sounds like a full day to me.

egg question(S) HA HA HA

yea I researched those egg washers but didn't buy one. It is like a dishwasher, you have to load and unload...HA HA

to me that was just as much work and energy to wash than my old hands.......so I do it by hand.

very simple.....fill the egg bucket with water, set a minute to loosen poop etc.......then trickle some water and scrub with scratchy sponge thingy......stick on towel with fan to dry fast and into the cartons.

it moves fast actually....just alot of stinkin' eggs..HA HA

I am getting more against "buying new appliances" etc. etc. cause they just break and cost money to fix and cause me grief.....the old hands haven't failed yet! :)
