Farm, I didn't know there was such a thing. Really interesting! I just had this image of some hill billy from Eastern Kentucky wanting a guinea pig for his kid for Christmas or something. My mental image still makes me laugh!!

Out on my errands today, I wanted to pick up a couple of Yankee Candles. At the store, they were having buy 2, get 1 free. Some kind soul gave me her coupon for buy 2 get 2 free!!! So nice of her and so fun!

I got home too late to do the decorations but did get the tree in the stand. Then when MyT Man came home, we went shopping on e-bay for his present and I showed him a crock that I wanted on CL. He was so excited he said to call the lady and get it.

So I got a 3 gallon antique crock for Christmas!!! I can tell you this is one present that probably won't get wrapped and put under the tree :bun

:woot Just got a call from Mr. S that they got another deer for us! Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow instead of decorating for Christmas! So thankful for the good people in our lives!

Yay on the deer.... Great friends :)

I love Yankee candles, actually, I am a tart/oil addict. I love a nice smelling house! So what scents did you get? I am a clean/seasonal scent kind of girl....not big on florals or perfumy scents.

I got mocha hazelnut, spiced pumpkin, maple walnut, and white chocolate. I love warm kitcheny smells! After about 2 minutes, the clerk was laughing and told me he had my "scent" palette pegged. It made everyone else in the store laugh because I was so picky! Oh, and they had a pancake one that smelled so yummy but I was afraid I would want to eat pancakes all of the time!

Brought Recipes from the Root Cellar by Andrea Chesman to work with me and paged through the whole thing today. Chapter 1 was a really nice introduction to winter vegetables with practical how-to's (how to store, how to use and how to buy good quality). It actually made rutabaga and parsnips sound gourmet!

Then the recipes! Here's the ones that I want to try before the new year:
-Mustard-Molasses Roasted Salmon and veggies
-Sweet Potato and Goat Cheese Frittata
-White Bean Stew with Smoked Turkey
-Smoky Black Bean Soup
-Roasted Sweet Potato Salad with Sesame-Ginger Vinaigrette
-Chicken Pot Pie with Sweet Potato Biscuits

Whew... I'm tired tonight. Just got to hang on until midnight and then I can roll out the sleeping bag and cat nap until 6am when I have to get up and do morning chores before the next shift takes over. Then no nap at home in the morning, breakfast and then processing the deer with neighbor J. Hopefully get a nap in the afternoon.
