Thanks for the tips! Sleeping with an ice pack wrapped in a single layer of towel has been working really well so far. Luckily it only bothers me, not DH. He can sleep through anything. Well, I've got my guy scheduled to come Tuesday sometime. Whew! It got up to 90* in the house today. Good thing tomorrow is a day off.

Well, we're off to the river for an evening with friends and bringing a vinegar pie. I tested a new pie crust recipe so will report back tomorrow. I've got 2 rhubarb pies for tomorrow but didn't have time for them today.

I also got my spring garden bed cleared out. 2 volunteer tomato plants that I left, got a small bucket of turnips and carrots and 1/2 of a 5 gallon bucket of onions.

A/C: Thank goodness for the rain Sunday and Monday. Helped keep the house cooler and good for the garden. Having the AC out this weekend really threw things a bit off kilter. Just got a call from MyT Man that the repair guy got it fixed so I'll go home to a nice house tonight!

Pie: Made a new pie crust that I LOVE! I'm replacing my MIL's recipe that I was using. This one has butter rather than lard. It has a better texture, light but stronger and crisper on the bottom and it's easier to mix up and it tastes better! That's like the trifecta of pie crusts!

Fermenting: Got the sauerruben started. Still haven't gotten to my other cooking projects. Having the AC out this weekend really threw things a bit off kilter. Just got a call from MyT Man that the repair guy got it fixed so I'll go home to a nice house tonight!

Chickens: One of the pullets starting to squat but no eggs yet.

Ideas: Tomorrow night I'm going to take my little red onions and make a red onion marmalade. I keep thinking about Free's onion wine and how good it sounded. This will be different but hopefully fill that spot in my brain and taste good. I'm just not ready to tackle wine yet.

My D1 had an appointment with her air conditioner man today. Some switch board is bad and will cost $500.00 to replace. :(

That stinks. But, it is better than having to replace the unit I guess...

Ours was the capacitor again. It's what he had to replace last year. Apparently he showed MyT Man how to fix it if it happens again. $20 part so that was fortunate.
