hahahaha. On the radio they were talking about the body's physiological response to the cold and how it does increase your urge to go.

I knew it wasn't all in my head!

Today we all seem to have an 'emotional' hangover from the tragedy yesterday. The young man who took his life yesterday had apparently reached the limit of losses that he could bear. About 14 months ago his mother passed unexpectedly from a prescription drug overdose. No one knew if it was intentional or not - she had been ill for a long time... Four months later his grandmother was gone also.

He was trying to move on with his life. He had been in a relationship with a young lady for six months or so and recently she broke up with him. During the ugly break-up she told him that she had been pregnant and her mother 'forced' her to get an abortion. That was apparently what sent him over the edge. In the note he left he said that the third loss (of his unborn child) was simply more than he could endure and he wanted to go 'home' to be with his mom, grandmom, and child. So very sad...

I've been fighting a bad cough for about a week now...haven't really felt terribly sick, but coughing a LOT and now my throat is beginning to get raw from it. So, I did something I haven't done in a loooong time - I bought some whiskey. If/when I drink, it's usually wine and I stay mostly away from the hard stuff - but I need a toddy tonight. I will be in the hot tub sipping away by this evening. Then an early bedtime and am hoping for a miraculous cure soon after! I've gotta get better by the weekend.

DH and I are planning a 'date' day Saturday. We want to go out for lunch and see a movie. I think I'll have him take me to PF Chang's. I had lunch there today and I'm ready to go back! And we're going to the jewelry store to see about exchanging my Christmas watch or having it sized. I dunno yet...

At some point this weekend I need to find time to butcher some roos. I'm overrun right now - ugh. Quail are pushing two weeks old and I'm ready to get them little stinkers outta my house. Hopefully Sunday afternoon I can get that done. I need to do a little repair on a cage and I'll have two grow out cages for 'em. I've got a former co-worker who desperately wants some of the quail...of course she wants em cleaned and freezer bagged, lol. I'll give her the first few and then after that a paying customer would be nice!

That's it for now... planning on leaving work a little early so need to get back to it.

Sorry to hear of the tragedy.
I How you feel better soon! When my throat feels that way all I want to drink is hot water with a bit of honey and lemon in it.

Thanks ya'll. Still coughing - throat just scratchy- not bad enough to even miss work- darn it! Sipped LOTS of honey, lemon and hot water last night with a little whiskey- just for good measure , lol. Didn't cure me, but I did sleep pretty good!

Got a flu shot today - better late than never I guess. I've never really thought it was something I needed before - always been pretty healthy - but think it might be a good idea this year.

Planning to butcher at least a couple Roos this weekend- but you know how the best laid plans go...we'll see.

Think I'll go make myself a toddy!

That poor poor kid That is the saddest story I have heard in a while.

I hope you get to feeling better soon lady! I hate when i get a cold like that!!!
