My pond level has come up. Still a ways to go. Buford still goes swimming every day. Sheba and Sentry want no part of it. Since that first rain a couple of weeks ago, Sheba has been sleeping in the feed bunk. No muddy toes for her!

She's such a diva!

We've got rain showing on the radar that looks to be headed our way. I'm optimistic, but know better than to get tooo excited, lol.

It's 48 degrees outside and 66 inside. I turned the heater on for the first time just to get the chill out. Don't want to get too accustomed to the heat, lol. We saved money yesterday - no AC!!!

We got rain - sorta... Rain gauge reads a whopping....wait for it.... .01. Whoop! Not gonna fill a pond that way - but maybe it'll moisten the rye grass seeds that I tossed out.

Temp dropped to 46 when the rain came. Supposed to be headed for a high of 59.

Had oatmeal with a dash of cinnamon and some Swerve (calorie free) brown sugar. Grandma used to say that's a stick to your ribs kinda breakfast.

Nope - no frost. It was 41 when I got up, but I got up a little late-ish this morning. Rare occurrence for me, but I'm ok with it.

For the first time in the 36 years I've lived here, I saw a deer in my pasture yesterday morning. She was just walking around behind the pond area...right out in the open. Neighbor's game cam caught a buck and doe yesterday also. I enjoy seeing them, but don't really want them in my pasture. Maybe I should get the electric fence back in working order. Not sure that would help with deer, but if I decide to put a duck or two on the pond it would help keep coyotes away.

Got the last raised bed cleaned out yesterday. I'm ready to plant! However, DH has a podiatrist appt today and he's not sure he feels like driving himself. He took another fall a couple nights ago and he's pretty sore. :( If I need to drive him I'll have to wait another day to plant. No biggie, it's getting warm again next week. Need rain!

I've been trying to get my chickens separated and penned. For some stupid reason they don't agree. Guess I'll be outside in the dark clipping wings one of these nights. Ugh!
