I know, SS, I have garden fever already! I am fairly caught up on getting the garden ready for next year. Its plowed and cleared. Next I need to add manure and compost, and some mulch to it. So it can disced in this Spring. I am ready to try my squash growing, and tater growing again :D

We don't do the movies very often and yep, it is pricey. But, at this theater the early morning movies are less pricey than the evening movies. The snack prices are crazy - but who needs popcorn at 9:30 in the morning???? But, that's why IF we get anything at all - we share it. We are frugal in so many other areas, that I don't mind splurging occasionally. Mainly this was a treat/reward because last week I paid off the last of the cc debt and we are officiallly debt freeeeee! No house payment, no car payments, no cc debt! I will admit that DH wants to go back and see "Lincoln" today. That's the problem with all those previews, lol. I told him to go if he wants to - but I've got so much to do that I don't think I'll be going. Oh, and if/when I do go back to see a movie - I will definitely take some of those foam ear plugs...geeze...why do they make it so loud?

It's chillly out there today - overnight low was 42. It was 68 in the house when I got up. Not too bad. After DH and I aced the "month without grocery shopping" challenge I've decided one of our next challenges will be to go as long as we can without turning on the heat. That one shouldn't be too hard. But, the big challenge that we're going to attempt is to save half of DH's salary. In January I'm going to start slamming half of DH's take home pay into savings. We are at an age where we need to maximize our savings for our 'golden years.' I don't have much faith in Social Security or that our 401k's will ever blossom the way we'd like them to.... Money under the mattress is starting to sound better to me, lol!

Outside plans today are to get a roof on the critter shack. I think I can, I think I can :fl Hopefully DH will take care of the inside chores. I think he can dust with one hand, right?

Better get outside and milk - I'm sure Red is already getting restless.

That's an awesome deal, FF! We got in for 6$, but a diet coke is a minimum of $3.75 for a small drink... we usually get a large one for (gulp) $5.75 - but we both sip out of it and it's free refills. Is that cheating? :idunno

In other news - I've just about got the roof frame up on the critter shack. I'm so darn proud of myself - but I'm sure not gonna let any body look very closely at it!! I've already got new ideas for the next one. I tried to build this shelter in the corner of a fence and incorporate the corner posts so I wouldn't have to use as many posts in the building. It made everything so much more trouble - I won't make that mistake again.

There was a theater like that in San Antonio - movie, small drink, small popcorn, candy and a toy for $5, no matter what time you went. Loved that! I took DS#1 to the movies twice a month!

If we had something like that around here, I'd go too.

I feel like I've been whupped with a stick, lol. I keep telling myself "self, you're getting too old to do all this" but I keep on doing it. So....drum roll please... The critter shack is 99% complete! I got the plywood for the roof on (kudos to my son for his help) and got it nailed down and covered with roofing felt. I'll pick up some shingles tomorrow and will finish it off if there's enough light left when I get home.

Glad I made some soup this morning before I ever went outside and started working. I ate a bowl for lunch and another one for dinner. Afterwards, I cracked a few pecans and hopped in the hot tub for a short soak. It felt soooooo good on my ol' sore muscles. I've got so many pecans that I'm gonna try to crack some every day or I'll never get 'em done. I don't intend to crack them all right now though - I just want to get a couple pounds on hand for whatever I may want them for.

I am going to bed....my 'self' wants to get horizontal, lol. G'nite folks.
