Well I had a brooder full of 1200 quail that week. Paid hatch deal, on top of my few hundred chicks I had for sale and all my breeder flocks.

That many is hard to wrangle though lol, had the awfullest time trying to deliver those quail...because they're so quick and jumpy little chicks and only about the size of a grape...yeesh

I think I like my poults better than the chicks. I'm not really a bird person though. I like having eggs... And I like watching the chickens from afar...they actually really creep me out when I have a flock of them following me around looking for snacks.

Even smaller and bouncier - button quail chicks. I swear they're hardly larger than your thumbnail and as soon as you open the incubator - they EXPLODE outta there, lol. I used to go chasing them all over the house until I learned to set the incubator inside a wire cage that we built just for that! Coolest little things though and I could sell 'em for $5.00 a pop at a trade day/chicken swap.

Maybe I ought to look into that again. I never really understood WHY they sold so well. Some people would put them in their green houses to eat bugs. Mostly because they're a novelty I guess - certainly not big enough to eat!
