He's actually not been too grumpy about it. I think he's enjoying a little down time compared to that job from hell he had....geeze! He would leave the house about 6:30 and not get home a lot of times until 8ish. It was nuts.

But he will be glad to be mobile again. And, I'll be glad when he is. I'm forced to do all the errands and I refuse to do them on the weekend if I can get out of it. So, I have to come in early or run errands at lunch. But, I'd really rather do that than give up a weekend day.

I think we will find out how much better his eye is - or isn't - today. He's been offered a job and I think he will need to get drug screening today. I simply can NOT take today off - field trip with 33 students and three chaperones are REQUIRED and since there are only three of us who run this program... So, he may be driving today for the first time in awhile!

His eye has been improving more and more every day this week. He can actually read with his left eye now! If he can read - he can drive right?

Hoping this weekend will be rain free. I've got lotsa 'farm stuff' to do. Need to give worm and give totralzuril to the babies. Absolutely, positively have to decide which babies/mama's are going or staying and get a Craigslist posting up. Also need to give copper to some of the gals too. Not really looking forward to it - but I'm really thinking I'm gonna castrate the little piggies. They're all boys - ugh. I don't need the boys outnumbering the girls! Might Craigslist them too...

Garden is doing what gardens do. Zucchini and yellow squash are winning the race for sure. I've picked a couple of "chocolate kisses" cherry type tomatoes - yum! Peppers are coming on - just need to get a little growth on 'em before I pick a bunch.

Happy Thursday (which is really my Friday so it's even happier!)

Ooh good luck to DH. Not on passing the drug screen, lol, I assume he doesn't need luck there, but with driving! And have a good field trip!

In my location we have something called "I-Ride", which is a grant funded, State run, small bus service for those who medically cannot drive. Wheel chair accessible. They are a truly underutilized system but, a Godsend for those who need the transport. You call & set appointments, they come to house & pick you up, deliver, pick-up and back home. Shopping, doctor appointments, work, just a great resource.

Anything like that in your area?

I wish!

Field trip went well - kids were well behaved! Just talked to DH and he said the drive went ok... yay! He says that the eye is really making progress and getting better every day! Woohoo! Hope that trend continues!

I'm tired - is it time to go home yet?

Found two chicken nuggets under a broody tonight-YAY! I brought them little buggers inside and will keep them here until I see if any more eggs are gonna hatch. Then I'm gonna have to find a safe place for them... I have a chicken tractor sitting in the corner of the yard under a tree that I haven't used in a year or so....might just have to clean it up and stick 'em in there. I'm tired of losing baby chicks!

Checked the broody nest and there was one more chick, but it was dead. :( The two that I brought in are doing well. Still hoping for a couple more. Guess I could be pro-active and candle them tonight to see what we're dealing with. And, if I were really on the ball I could bring them in and put 'em in the incubator and then sneak 'em back under the broody in the dark of night... May or may not....

Really feel like just being lazy. Wanna go to a movie. Wanna go out to dinner. Wanna not have to tromp through the mud to feed, milk, and do preventative treatments to anything. Maybe what I really want is a vacation, lol!
